Chapter 4

Outside the village Gemini stood within a ring of soldiers about fifteen feet away from him. Within that twenty feet were dead or wounded soldiers he'd already dealt with. But that wasn't the pressing matter.
His ear perked up at the sound of a twang. He ducked fast as an arrow whizzed pass where his head just was. Ebony shaft. Diamond arrow head. Swan feather fletching. Those arrows only belonged to one person.

"You're pretty good at dodging aren't you" a voice called up. He glared at it's owner. Golden blond hair. Bright blue eyes. Thin build. Bow in hand, the arrow holder strapped to her back.

"Sagittarius" Gemini seethed out. She was a master archer because of her name sake and that made her hard to get close to. Normally a bow and arrow was useless except at a range but she was too skilled with it. She could fire accurately even from one foot away and still have the same power. Splitting up didn't help because she was fast so he was low on option here.

"You used to be so much more fun back when we were kids" she groaned yawning. "Now you’re just a bore"

Gemini's eye twitched as he growled at her. "I'll show you a bore" he whispered taking a running start at her. She giggled raising her bow and loosing arrows at him. Gemini dodged the majority of them by skill but the rest of them by shear luck. He closed the first ten feet no problem but the closer he got the harder it became to dodge.

More then once he almost lost his eye getting past the last five feet. When he got close to her the soldiers stepped in. He could fight way better then these chumps in his sleep but yet again Sagittarius made life a hard.

He blocked a soldier’s blade with his own splitting it in two stabbing him through the chest. He back flipped over the guy behind him and slashed off his head. He turned his head seeing the arrow whiz by his face. He looked back ducking as he was almost skewered.

He split in two forms Kuro taking care of the soldiers while Shiro went for her. Shiro ducked and weaved blocking her arrows with his sword needing every piece concentration to live. In a second he had his sword pressed at her neck her arrow at his head as they both froze.

"Not so much of a bore now am I?" Shiro asked Kuro merging with him again. Sagittarius giggled again.

"No you're not" she said withdrawing her arrow from his head and waved the other soldiers away. They moved away at once seeing to those he hadn't killed or hurt. Gemini watched them go wary before turning back to her putting his sword back as one.

"What are you doing Sage?" he asked tired and confused. "I remember back when it was us you only hung out with me, Aqua, Libra and Cancer. You hated fighting. You just liked having fun. What changed you?"

Sage looked at him through sad and slightly pitying eyes. "Sorry Gem. But I can't tell you that. I wish I could but I can't"

Gemini's sad eyes turned blank "Then I have to fight you" he whispered pointing his sword at her.

"No" she whispered. "You're friend needs you right now" Gemini's eyes widened and he mouthed "Leo" and she nodded. He gave her one last glance before running back toward the village. The soldiers motioned to chase him but Sagittarius waved them to stand down.

The village was pretty much gone now. Every building had either been destroyed or scattered around the once village, now clearing. Leo's claymore was in the ground and she was panting hard blood coming from cuts on her arms, chest, and head.

Pisces was on top of the last jagged piece of a building his knives circling him like two fish. His sleeved arm was hanging useless at his side while his head was bleeding above the eye.

He glared at her hate, sadness, anger, a host of emotion he didn't know but were reflected back at him in Leo's eyes. She blinked her eyes feeling the sting of tears in her eyes but she shoved that feeling away.

"Why!" she shouted at him. "Why are we fighting each other?! We were friends Pisces! This is so messed up it doesn't make any sense!"

Pisces turned his head away closing his eyes. "I'm sorry Leo. But things changed” he paused “I changed." he brought his hand up shooting both knives, no longer connected by the cable, straight at her. Leo saw the blades but didn't fight them as they zoomed past embedding themselves in the ground behind her.

Leo felt her tears start to flow down her cheeks as Pisces jumped down landing in front of her. "I'm sorry Leo" he whispered his fist connecting with her chest. She jerked once her eyes closing.

"Pisces" she whispered collapsing. Pisces caught her gently then turned.

"Virgo!" he shouted. The priest stepped forward his ropes torn his face bruised and battered. However his mind had never been clearer.
"Take her, find Gemini, and get out of here" he said quickly. Virgo took her from him his eyes glowing white as he tried to heal her wounds.

"Why come here if you only accomplished in destroying one lowly village?" he said angrily glaring at him.

"Cancer's orders were to see if you would join us. And to test Leo and Gemini" he said softly but a self anger in his voice. "We did that and honestly you did well. But it's not enough. Cancer's still stronger then you all by at least ten times"

Virgo blinked back his surprise and unwilling fear. No way that he could be that much stronger then them. "What can we do to beat him?" Virgo whispered.

"The only thing I can guess would all of us together and maybe yes" Pisces said. "But you guys are gonna have to free Libra and Aqua. Sage and I didn't want to do this so we'll try to convince Aries and Taurus. I just hope it'll be enough. We've talked too long. Go now"

Virgo nodded closing his eyes and making a cross over his chest. The two of them made it pretty far when Gemini caught up. He immediately split seeing Leo like that. The four of them made it as far as the forest before collapsing from their wounds and exhaustion.

With the sky dark and stars out it seemed like they'd be able to recover in peace. But as the moon shone it illuminated a figure walking toward.
