This is my choice,
To walk alone
In the never ending darkness.
Years of solitude
Made me strong,
Taught me to keep fighting.
Solitude made me wise,
Though being alone in the deep dark,
I lost feeling and emotion.
Once I almost gave up
Fighting but,
A few great friends
Came and helped to keep
The darkness at bay.
But I can't simply leave
My darkness, my solitude...
It taught me so much;
How to protect my dearest of friends.
It gave me the wisdom
To share advise and
Prosper among those friends.
But even they don't know
How much pain I'm in or
The continuous sorrow that shows
In my eyes,
For this enduring mask I wear.
I'll be at my best and happiest
When they are around.
To keep them away from what
I've felt, what I've been through.
Anything to keep them happy,
Even at my own dispence.
