We are young now, playing in the dirt. And when we are done, he helps me dust my shirt. We laugh and giggle, and color with crayons, play hide and seek, and play Pretend! And our parents watch us fondly. We are older now, going to school, in the same class, he's the class fool. We laugh, and giggle, and study our maths, English and Science, and be done before much time pass. And our parents watch us fondly. We are even older now, still attending class. Next week is prom and we're going to dance. We laugh, and giggle, and he holds me close, kisses me gently and gives me his soul. And our parents watch us with worry. Even older now, our parents are fighting, joining together to keep us from tiding. We scream, I cry, we argue and fight, sneaking out our windows at night. And our parents watch us in worry. Even older now, a ring in his hand, kneeling on one knee, and I say yes. We laugh, and giggle, and then tell the world, the date in which we join worlds. And our parents watch us lovingly. Older now I cry in pain, he rushes me to the hospital through pouring rain. Our second child now, and she's a girl! We laugh, and cry, and she's our world. And our parents watch us fondly. Older now, wrinkled with time. Our parents long gone, our children grown. We walk sit on the rocking bench hand in hand. We laugh, we giggle, joke and talk, and we know our parents watch us fondly. Oldest now, I visit his grave, soon to join him in the golden parade. I tell him of our newest grandchild, how he just began to walk. "Looks just like you did when we were small. See you soon my love in no time at all." And he watches me fondly. Now I see, I've gone and died. Floating up, losing time. I see him, and we are young again. There he waited for me all this time. He holds me close, we pass through the gate, we're there in heaven we always stay. Together with our ageless love.
