I'm just this into myself
Going on, and on, and on about Me, Myself, and I. Not about You, or what He/She did at school, or some Jerk online, just Me.
Am I going to regret this in the morning?
talk2hand No, no Sex, Drugs, or RRSP scandals. Just mucho nerdiness.

I bought my Neon Genesis Evangelion Nerv boxset a few years ago from Futureshop, back when their boxingday sale didn't suck a** (Back when I was keen to stand for 3.5hours in the Return line to offload what I didn't want at 6am, then wait in line to get to the dvd section, then wait in line for 2 hours to pay for what I did want.) And after discount and giftcards and all that it shook out to me paying something like 147$ Canadian (for the first edition black box, not this new cheaply priced platinum thinpack thing... that I might end up getting as well...) So that was my score of the year.
Trouble was, when I bought it the corners on the dvd-facing side were scuffed, and the white showed through.

Now, the eternal collector's question. To restore, or not to restore?

gonk

Any time you refinish antique furnature, re-press a print, re-paint a car, the original condition factor suffers. And I'm the kind of person that cares about that.
So after much thought I did end up taking my model brush and a matt black acrylic paint to the corners of my box. I'm apprehensive while it's drying, because if it dries with any gloss it will be appearant it's been painted- since the detailing on this box is dependant on the alternating gloss and matt finishing.
The kicker though is I have no intention of selling it, even years down the line, so the devil's advocate stance in this case is "Who the hell cares if you did or didn't?".

t3h n3rd1n355... My boxset original condition virginity is gone.
