The Judgment of Regal
Ventus Tears: Prelude Cont.
Meanwhile, in the dark reaches of the Realm of Mortuus….
The Lord of Destruction and Death Galviic sat upon his throne, the Throne of Decessus. His skeleton-like fingers traced over the armrest of Decessus, which was made of a cradle of thorns. He touched his hand to face, running over his veined cheeks and naked cranium. His black eyes gazed down as a circular black puddle at the base of the throne started to take shape. It first went to forming a robe of black, then to a skeleton that seemed to be born into the robe. A large scythe took position behind the abomination of shadows.
This form was Death. He bowed as soon as his full form arrived, looking up at Galviic.
“Yes, my apprentice?”
Galviic’s voice was as terrifying as the concept of fear. It was told that if his breath were to touch your body, you’d disintegrate into nothingness…
“Galviic, my lord. I have urgent news from Elementon…”
Galviic stood and started down Decessus. As soon as he reached the bottom step, Death stood upright, tense. Galviic frightened Death…
“At ease, apprentice…what is it that you need to tell me? What is the matter of dire importance?”
Death eased himself and said, “Ventira Mars has found the Regal Warrior…what s-shall we do?”
Galviic thought for a minute, pondering strategies that would capture Nikolas Chase. Galviic turned to face Decessus, before saying, “My apprentice…it is time…If the Regal Warrior completes the Prophecy of Mars, then our empire may be overthrown. So my next command…”
He turned to face Death as the command slipped through his mouth. “…is for you to send our ten worthiest Blood-Hounds to kill Chase. Do you understand, apprentice?”
Death nodded his head, almost trembling with fear.
Galviic turned to walk up the throne, then whipped around and screamed, “What are you still DOING here?!”
xXx
I stood in the middle of a forest marked with the deceased. Limbs hung as branches; mortal hearts as leaves; blood as the mist that surrounded my knees down. The gauntlets on my wrist blinked a faint red, meaning that the life source that kept you alive in both the BattileZone and Alx- aura- was but of a dwindling force. My body felt heavy after the last battle I had managed to survive, drained of stamina. Cuts engulfed my unprotected right arm, blood flowing from open wounds. At least this wasn’t real…or so I was to think.
