With the recent release of the 'Tip Post' button in the forums today there have been many complaints and praises of the feature in SF. While it may seem like a harmless and fun idea or something easy to ignore, I'm afraid that will NOT be the case for this young lady right here. The BRIGHT ORANGE color of the button(yes that is the shade of orange in the button, the darkest shade in the button I could find, mind you) is affecting my ability to focus on what I'm reading. I don't know how many of you guys know this but I have Convergence Insufficiency and Accommodative Dysfunction which affects my ability to focus, I wear bifocals and do eye therapy for it, however, I'm still in the process to correcting the problem(it can be corrected by those two things). Every time I am in the forums reading a post I am focusing on the post like a regular person does, but in my peripheral vision I see that BRIGHT ORANGE button and as much as I'm trying to not focus on the orange button my eyes jump to it. ._. I am now suffering from headaches as a result. Sure, I could take some Tylenol or maybe a chill pill, but I don't think I should have to take drugs for an online feature. That's not right. I could adBlock it, but maybe I want the ability to still tip people if I ever feel the need or maybe I want to know if they change it? If the button wasn't so OBNOXIOUS, BRIGHT, AND LARGE, I wouldn't have a problem. The point is it is distracting to me and affecting my ability to read posts which in turn affects my ability to respond correctly. I'm aware the submit button and the orange color is also around the site but the tip button is above every single post.
All that being said this is a notice to forewarn anyone who maybe enjoys seeing my activity around the forums, that you'll probably see a sudden decrease with that. (Just as I was starting to like posting in SF again...oh well there goes that)
If I'm posting around Gaia it's probably going to be in any of my personal threads, any of my subscriptions, and in A Highly Sarcastic Guide to Starting an Art Shop specifically. I'm still going to be active on Gaia, but I'll be on zOMG and my activity in Guilds will probably increase.
I'm sorry, but there's only so much I can do for my eye condition and having CONSTANT HEADACHES is something I'm not willing to have for the sake of posting in some forums. I'm doing the best thing I can by limiting myself, and with school coming up my activity on Gaia will probably decrease a bit(yay for band and honors classes!) too.EDIT: THANKS TO THE GENIUS, MINDSET, I CAN CHANGE MY ORANGE TIP JAR TO A PLAIN GRAY/WHITE COLOR ;D
