Vast Waters
Summer's delicate breeze, wisps my hair.
As if it was a trailing horse's tail.
The setting sun, makes the ocean below.
Shimmer as if it was a thousand diamonds.
Setting ablaze, the orange turbulent waters.
Crash onto the cold rocky shore.
Sending a salty wind, to my mouth and nose.
That taste of a ripe green apple,
bitter and delicious.
From the cliff, I look below, in a curious position.
As the sun disappears behind the endless ocean.
My feet dangle, taunting the ocean.
These waters are the one I love, my heart yearns to set sail.
For now, I am stuck, a child who dreams,
and a adult who wishes.
To embrace the sea's hypnotizing gaze.
