There was king
Who only loved wealth
Ugly personality
and piteous health,
Married great women
for great sums of gold
but left them to die
in ways left untold.
Until one day
with anger so great
a witch came along
with a curse to create
Disguised herself she did
As a great noble queen
With the finest white wine
made from Africa's steen
The king not one
so easily amazed
said "Give me your gold
"or go seperate ways"
The queen said "here King
and please take this child
with hair made of gold
she'll last a long while
If you want gold
just brush her hair
and down will fall wealth
with lot's more to spare"
And so the king did
Every night for a year
and sick he became
with skin turning sheer
Until on his death bed
Daughters' hand he hold
And she looked up at him
said "i'm made of fools gold"
