Garlic Chicken Stir Fry
main ingrediants-
2 Tablespoons Peanut Oil
6 Cloves Garlic (minced)
1 Bunch Green Onions (Chopped)
1 lb Bonless Skinless Chicken Breasts (cut into strips)
2 Onions (thinly sliced)
1 Cup Chicken Broth
2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
2 Tablespoons White Sugar
2 Tablespoons Corn Starch
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Red Bell Pepper (thinly sliced)
Cooking Methods-
1) Heat peanut oil in a wok until it begins to smoke
2) Add 2 minced garlic cloves, green onions, and salt
3) Add chicken and stir fry until chicken is no longer pink
4) Add remaining minced garlic cloves and stir. Stir fry 1 minute
5) Add onions, bell pepper, and 1/2 cup chicken broth. Stir fry 2 minutes
6) In a small bowl, add soy sauce, sugar, corn starch, and 1/2 cup chicken broth
7) Add sauce mixture to wok. Stir fry 2 minutes
cool Serve immediatly, over hot rice if desired
The stir fry was a combination of various things. The chicken was tender, the peppers and onions were crunchy, and the sauce gave it a sweet taste. My mother, grandmother, and I all loved it (the kids were gone and my dad hates stir fry). The total cost of it was $12.08. I have a feeling I'm going to make it again soon smile . I chose the culture because I'm familiar with it and i chose this recipe because it simple.
(If you say salt is a spice, my mother and I both looked it up. A spice is organic and consists of bits of dry seed, bark and root. Since salt is a mineral, it doesnt fall into this catagory. http://www.foodchannel.com/articles/article/salt-is-not-a-spice/... I dont mean to be rude, I just want to clarify it. thanks)
