the music of today...
a lot of it, not most, and certainly not all, but a lot of it is just crap. All it is angry and perverted people "singing" about their angry and perverted lives. If you don't believe me, look up the lyrics to a song, any one in particular, and keep looking and looking until your satisfied that a lot of "popular music" is just terrible angry/sex-driven crap. If you didn't find anything either A) you are smart, and have a good taste in music, or B) you are stupid and have yet to look in the right places or C) you have terrible taste in music, and you have no idea how to interpret music.
