We had planned to go to Chinatown in San Francisco today to go shopping. I had plans to buy silk or brocade pajamas because I was wanting something nice and soft to wear to go to sleep. Some matching slippers would have been nice, too. We went to finish up catsitting for these people I usually petsit for. I intended to use the 120 bucks I earned for doing it plus the 20 bucks I had for allowance. We took the Bart up and walked up and down the street in Chinatown, looking at shops. I ogled at kimonos and qipaos. My first buy was a pair of Tabi socks with cats on them. ($9.95) I always had wanted a pair. (I eventually went back and bought a purple pair.) I also tried on geta, but all of them were so small and I eventually had to try on men's pairs in a different store. Didn't buy any. I kept on getting compliments in the more expensive stores because my hair was pinned up with sticks and kanzashi pins. Very surprising. IBought a purple popsicle keychain for my backpack because most of my other ones broke. I ogled silk robes and decided against pajamas, decided to get a purple robe that was so deep purple it was almost brown. My Mom began yelling at me because it was 85 bucks and she didn't want ME spending MY money on something that expensive. We went out. She went into a tea shop and bought 4 samples of 4 different really expensive asian teas that had exotic names. Black, White, Oolong, and Green. I'm looking forward to trying the jasmine oolong. Turns out, you need to steep them in different temperatures of water or else they turn out bad. Went into this anime shop. There was a really adorable Vincent plush, but I couldn't bear look at it or buy it... It reminded me too much of something painful. We went to the fortune cookie factory that was in an alley there. It was just like it was when I was a little child going there on a class field trip. Bought 2 bags of the failed cookies. We switched sides to the street and I eventually decided to buy a deep purple robe that had silver bamboo and blossoms and oak leaves on it, seeing as my Mom was being a b***h over the silk and complaining that if I stained it the stain would never come out and that brocade, though heavier, was easier to clean. Went into this little food court, had a snack, then headed back to the bart. I never did get those slippers or geta, though I would have liked it. None just seemed to match or to fit. It's ok, in Japantown San Jose, there's this shop that sells ALOT of geta clogs that will do better, and proper tabi that go between the first 2 toes on the foot. Went home, cleaned myself up a bit, now I'm wearing the robe and the purple tabi. It feels really good.

Fun Level: 7/10 (Would have been 9/10 if I had been permitted to buy what I wanted.)
I might go to Borders Books too, because they're going out of buisiness. I'll find myself something nice.
