Realization
Wake up, hit the snooze
Never once think I might lose
Stand up and head down
Did I decide to smile or frown?
Open the door and ignore
Automatically, it's all a bore
Get to work and complain
Forget all joy, feed the pain
Fake a smile, fake a laugh
A little more 'till time and a half
Drive home, cook a meal
Go to bed, avoid, don't feel
When did I forget the sky is blue?
When did I stop having a clue?
There's more to life than what is seen
There's more to be than what I've been
Child's laughter fills my heart
I try to remember my humble start
Imagine your sweet eyes once more
Be swayed, eventually brought to shore
"Promise me one thing," you said
"Never stand back, don't be afraid,
It's never as bad as it seems,
And it's never a hazard to dream."
So then it all makes sense
When life is seen through new lens
When I see my evident flaws
I'll smirk and retract my claws
Wake up, sit at once
Thank God for another chance
Stand up and head out
Today I sing my blissful shout
