Along the green silk pasture They walked Not a care in the world not a Worry on their minds The girl looked to the boy The smile she bore Fading on her lips "Promise you won't hurt me..." The girl said softly A serious look on her face The boy stopped walking He turned to watch the girl "Promise me..." The girl sad softer Sadness in her tone Tears in her eyes "Promise me that you'll stay for the good and the bad That you'll be there When laughs turn to sad" The boy watched and listened "Promise you'll be there When ever the wind and rain are too cold Promise me that you'll hold me And tell me every thing's rightly so Promise me you'll never Stop making me smile Promise me That you'll be here all the while Promise me that The pain won't come back and stay Promise me that You won't go astray Promise me..." The girl began crying Sobbing and shaking The boy watched for a moment Then took her in his arms "I promise that, and so much more..." He held her embraced As that field turned to night
