An Empty Mother
Cold heart.
Dark mind.
How is she fine?
And seen as divine?
Unappreciative.
She pours salt on my cuts.
Uses the word "fine" to define my pain.
I wince.
She grins.
Looking and asking for her advice...
is like looking for pain multiplied twice.
She judges what she sees fit,
yet all she does is sit.
Reminders of lessons that I never learned.
Following loyally behind her.
Hoping for change.
Instead it was rearranged.
Blankly I stare at her for answers.
She looks at me as if I was not her child that she had first.
I've been replaced.
I'm nothing but a dog.
Loyal.
Obedient.
A follower.
Leashed
with all this misery.
All leading to more history.
This is no mystery.
I faced the truth.
How can someone like her have me?
When all she sees is someone with invisibility.
Someone who is weak.
I was never the one she seeks.
