Purple Potatoes are passive creatures that know how to play black jack and do the infamous cup song. Basically from South America the Native Miwok tribe (Yes decedents of the Ewoks). Believed the odd tuberous Purple thingy to be of the stars they traded with the Wari a group of Coastal Natives long since deceased from Peru.
The Wari believed them to be god's as they have healing properties and grow well with tons of water like wow rain 4 days. Not much is known of this species you can eat them and they have chemicals its undecided if it's GMO so yea.
