Because of you, I gave up everything
For the sake of you, I threw my happiness away
Because of your words, I allowed myself to suffer
But you only told me lies
I allowed my wings to be torn and broken
To keep your's intact and whole
I was scorned and beaten down
To protect you from the jeers
But gradually it became harder to go on
And I turned to you for help
I reached out a pale, trembling weak hand
Hopeful eyes turned to you
My trust was misplaced, however
You only slapped my hand away
You turned your back on me
For the sake of joining the ones I had protected you from
Your voice and laughter
Stood out amongst their jeers
I felt helplessly alone
Betrayed by the one I cared about
But you don't need to worry
I know I will survive
And if you come back to me
I'll smile and forgive you
Because that's just who I am
Okay. This is a poem I wrote last Thursday in History and Science class because I was bored. What do you think? Personally, I think it's... Cruddy...
