Welllll...I was downtown in the car and it was pouring down rain. Duh. It's Washington. But what caught my eye was this couple walking along the sidewalk The man had one arm around the woman, another clutching an umbrella, and the woman's arm was wrapped back around his waist. And they weren't walking like they had to get somewhere in a hurry...even though the rain and the traffic and the mist and everything made the atmosphere so frantic, they were taking their time, slowly. We drove farther and as we passed them, I saw the woman had a closed umbrella in her hand that wasn't on the man's waist.
It just struck me as so sweet and simple and wonderful that you could be so comfortable with another human that you would rather huddle under the same small umbrella, half of your body still getting drenched, than open your own.
I don't know. It's the first time I've thought of something as "sweet" or "romantic" in a long time. It was nice for a change, yknow?
