Site update: I added a picture in the character art section of Citrus Kiss.
I'm not too happy with how the picture turned out, but it was one I'd started a long time ago and I was just looking through my unfinished pics and it was so close to being done that I just went ahead and finished it.
I imagine there will be a lot of really crummy pictures while I'm working on gettin' my style and skills back. Hopefully it won't take too long though.
In the Commission section, I'm going to have listed the current five things I'm working on and add the progress as I go. So far I've joined the Norrath's Studio Halloween exchange and I've got a couple of ideas of things I might do for the Harry Potter monthly challenge.
I don't know what's goin' on at work. It is a mess that I'd rather not be involved in, but I don't seem to have a choice right now. A week and a half after becoming our site director (and STILL not telling us), Six went on a vacation. Because of all of this, I cancelled my vacation. It irks me somewhat.
I've decided that if I still have a job when he comes back, I'm goin' to put in for my time off in November as if I was taking that vacation. With some of the money I would have spent, I'm gonna buy myself a really nice digital camera for my birthday and just spend that two weeks off taking pictures and drawing. I need time to recharge. I need a vacation.
The other day 6.5 (I don't know what else to call her) came to me and told me to start thinking of ways to make the center more productive in the evenings. They are wanting to become a completely educational center. The decision has already been made. Did they ask the one person that had been there since the beginning and had seen the five previous site directors come and go? No, of course not. The new exec did a fifteen minute walkthrough and decided this without even considering how this would impact the community.
Where do the kids go when they can't come there to play anymore? Back into the street. The four previous site directors tried this and failed. Only the one that made it a "community" center where people can come and enjoy themselves succeeded. Our numbers went up, people enjoyed the center, we enjoyed working there, and it was the FIRST time I took zero damage to my car. Just when we get to something that works, someone in an office somewhere comes along and says it's not good enough and puts us back at square one. Why were we not part of the process? It just wears me out to think about it.
I love the approaching weekend.
