My story, whatcha think? (just an intro)
The cool air of the forest was touched with a light chill of the night water rested on the last of the leaves on the autumn trees, the remnants of the storm still booming in the distance. The sound of the night nearly silent, small gusts of wind blew leafs around the forest floor, but light sound of footsteps arose from the silence. Her breath was fast as she ran hastily through the forest around her. The sound of her footsteps was very light, but any noise, would give her away. She quickly pulled away her cloak and spread her pearl white wings and stretched them out. Her footsteps fell nearly silent as her wings lifted her up from the ground bellow. The steps that contacted the wet ground bellow pushed her threw the air, there wasn't enough room to fully spread her wings enough to fly. The cool night air stung as it whipped against the gash that ran down her arm. She knew she had to ignore the pain flooding from her arm, she needed to find somewhere to remain unknown to mend her wound and rest.

Ahead she could see an small clearing in the forest, slowly she began to close her wings as she neared the clearing, letting her feet come back down to the ground. As she stepped out cautiously from the trees she saw the cliff's edge in front of her. Slowly she took a few steps towards it lifting her head to look over it. She could see the top of some building bellow, carefully she stepped forward and peered down onto the town bellow as she layed on the edge of the cliff.

She looks closely wondering if there was an inn bellow, but all she noticed were men stumbling together arms draped over each other swinging around mugs of alcohol and singing loudly together. She looked away from them with a look of disgust and peered around the edge for a moment to see if there was a way down form there without the risk of being sighted flying down. As she glanced down her face went pale and her eyes seemed lost. A few moments went by and then she snapped up suddenly from the small trance and shook her head. She couldn't think of those things. They were in her past and only her past. She peered around the edge of the town for a moment more, seeing a small lake off in the distance, but in walking distance to the town. That was the closest place she could go to without risk of being spotted. Swiftly she spread her wings and leapt up into the concealing darkness of the sky high above the town.

The lake bellow shimmered in the faint light of the moon, the sand around the lake seemed to glow from the light, and the lake itself was still, top so smooth it reflected like a mirror.. Lightly she touched he feet down onto the undisturbed sand bellow. Folding her wings back down and taking her cloak and swinging it back over them as she rested them against her back to keep warm, along with the cloak. Only the distant sound of the towns nightlife hinted her of any existence around her, she set off through the woods to the town ahead. She shivered slightly, when she had been running she had dropped her warmer jacket to loose weight when she was still being chased.

Her sky blue eyes focused into the darkness, glitter of the stars in the sky above glistened in her sky blue eyes, stunning silver hair like stands of delicate silk swayed in the wind around her. Morgaine was a quite girl, she was pretty young and often mistaken for being even younger by her small figure and size. She was quite drawn to being by herself, time alone had gotten her to the point of self-dependency, and the only company she ever shared, was a small arctic fox. The small fox had followed her across the wilderness of the artic when she was there, it never left her side. She started calling it Pistos, which meant ‘Faithful one.’, though she called him Tos for short. She assumed it was abandoned by its family because it was so small, and unable to fend for itself. Pistos lightly nudged her side as he slowly poked his head out, waking from all the commotion. He slipped his head out under her gleaming white-feathered wing that lay hidden under cloak. Often time this was the only way she could fit in with the normal people, Morgaine was part angel. She had been given a second chance after a terrible past, she was allowed to come back as what she is now. But her past was never what she wanted it to be, just the past, it haunted her always.

Morgaine walk quickly toward the town clinging tight onto her cloak wrapped around her. Tos lay behind her neck on her shoulders resting quietly with his head on her shoulder. His soft fur tickled her neck a little, but Morgaine didn't mind, to her he was actually quite warm, and right now she was shivering from the chilly forest atmosphere. Morgaine's steps landed on the damp wet leafs of the forest flood, she could hear the sounds of the town ahead and thought she could see the edge of the forest surrounding the town. She made her way hastily towards the edge of the trees, when something caught her eye. Something by the trunk of an old tree shimmered in the sparkling moonlight. Morgaine looked at it for a moment but couldn’t tell what it was, she slowly crept towards it staring deeply at it trying to see what it was. A shiver shot down her back, she realized what she saw, a pool of blood.

Moraine cautiously bent down to look at it closer. Tos slowly jumped off his perch as she bent down and peered curiously at her as he sensed her fear. He wandered over to her hand and nudged it and looked up at her then at the blood.. Moraine put her hand close to it and gently touched it with her finger, as she did she nearly fell back out of shock and fear, the blood was still warm.

Tos looked up at her interested and crawled up her knee from his spot on the ground and set his front paws lightly on her hand and peered at her fingertip wide eyed. He sat there for a moment and stared at the shimmering blood on her fingertips, but Tos suddenly looked around and bounced off to the blood on the ground once more. But he suddenly darted over behind Morgaine and stood up and looked into a small clearing. Morgaine watched him confused and carefully stood up still holding the blood up to the moonlight. As she walked over to Tos she gasped in horror at what she saw. There was blood all over a small clearing, and large white feathers, feathers, almost identical to her own, angel feathers. Morgaine reached her hand down shaking as she knelt slightly, never turning her eyes off the horrible scene. Her soft lips parted to call for Tos, but all that came out was a shaking breath, fueled by fear.

“C-come…here Tos” softly escaped her lips after she forced it out. Tos quickly turned his little curious eyes to her and pranced over to her and jumped up into her hand. Moraine slowly bent down to this blood and looked at it. “Is this angel blood Tos?’ her soft voice quietly asked aloud. She carefully looked at it for a moment on her shaking and then slowly reached up to her own wound with her other hand and touched it lightly with her finger, wincing at the pain of the simple soft touch.. She lowered her hand down with her own blood on it and looked at it next to the others. All three seemed alike, but only two were the same, her own, and the blood in the clearing with the feathers. But the blood at the base of the tree was different, almost, tainted. Moraine wiped the blood from her fingers on a piece of shrub by her and sat there and thought for a moment. He thoughts drifted from one blood, to the next, wondering how the other two had got there, and what events claimed this scene. A crunching noise rang out in the trees close to her and Morgaine quickly sprang back twisting as she did so and looked hastily around. She Saw nothing , nor heard anything , but she knew, something wasn’t right, and something, or someone, was watching her. Morgaine quickly sprinted off in fear towards the town.

Moraine reached the edge of the trees and stepped out into a small area around a well. Her breath fast and shallow as she silently walked with her head down and a hood pulled over her face. Tos now laid cradled in her arms under the cloak to keep from anyone seeing him, Morgaine continued to walk slowly into the town looking for an inn to rest in, she had still yet to do something about her wound which was in a lot of pain. She tried to keep her mind off the pain by gently petting Tos in her arms. His soft white fur was still in its winter coat, her favorite coat he had, but still the wound lingered in the forefronts of her thoughts, along with the bloody scene from the forest..

Morgaine continued down the street and looked around, she didn’t want to go into the more crowded area by the pub, there was too much of a chance of being seen and suspicion from others arising. Moraine made her way deeper into town when she saw an inn down the street to the left of her. quickly she made her way toward it. She peered into the window hoping to find a girl at the counter she could get sympathy from without questions asked. But to her surprise, nobody was at the desk and as far as she could tell, nobody in the room either. She cracked the door open slightly and looked in, as before she sees nothing, so she carefully opened the door and walked over to the counter and looked over at the wall across it. There was one set of keys left on the hooks for rooms, it had the number 12 etched above it. She pulled Tos lightly from his spot on her cradled arm. She grabbed a bag out of her pocket and a light jingle of coins came forth from the bag. She set it on the counter and pointed at the key to Toa. He set off knowing what she meant somehow and scampered off to the old skeleton key and grabbed it in his mouth and brought it back to her. Then he grabbed the bag of coins and scurried up to the key rack on the wall again and set a mouthful of gold coins in it and scampered back to his spot in her arm and rests his head softly against her leaving the remaining coins in the bag in front of her..

Morgaine walked softly to the stairs and head up to the rooms after grabbing the little leather bag. Behind her she heard footsteps and a mans voice ring out ‘Why hello, what is this?’. She turned around slowly but then heard the sound of the coins echoing from the counter, she turned forward and continued back to the rooms. She make her way down the hall, she saw a number of rooms with a flicker of candle light escaping from the crack of the door by the floor, while other rooms she hears rustling or soft conversations between two people. She ended up at the last room in the hall, her room. She put the key into the old door and turned the key and unlocked the door with a noise that echoes down the hall. She stepped inside slowly into the chilly room and looked around closing the door behind.

It is a small room with a window overlooking the town. Morgaine stepped toward the window and peered out of it. In the distance she could see many houses, and hovering above them was a large mansion. A huge flash of light suddenly exploded from the depths of the mansion as she looked at it. Morgaine blinked rapidly trying to regain the sight in her watering hazy eyes. After a moment her eyes cleared enough to try to focus on the mansion. She looked, but didn’t believe what she saw as she rubbed her eyes and looked again, the mansion was still there! She sat there and looked at it and closely watched it for something else to happen. Nothing continued to happen as she watched, just the subtle flicker of the candles, and slowly as nothing happened, without noticing, Morgaine’s eyes slowly began to drift close as she fell into a light sleep, but she quickly was awakened as Tos rustled to find a more comfortable spot.

“Come on Tos, let’s go to bed.” she said walking over to the bed clumsily from her fatigue. She slipped sleepily out of her wet dirty cloths and held Tos close as she slipped under the covers of the bed, gently laying her wings outstretched behind herself to rest. This town defiantly had something weird going on, but she couldn’t tell quite yet what it was. Morgaine slowly faded into a deep sleep as she thought about this place.

The light sound of Tos’ feet echoed through the room. Morgaine slowly lifted her head and looked around rubbing her eyes, for a moment she had forgotten where she was. But then she smiled as she saw Tos playfully batting around a small feather.

“Come her you.” She said laughing a little as she looked at him. Tos sat there for a moment not moving, but only cocking his head to the side and looking at her. But then he bounced around for a second batting the feather once more and leapt up to her on the bed and nudged her hand to get her to pet him. “You silly thing.“ her soft voice exclaimed as she smiled and lightly stroked his head as she looked out the window to the rising sun. The suns rays were just cresting over the peaks of the mountains around the town. She looked around contently at the elegant little town before her window, in the night she had not realized the look of the town was so, different than what she thought. Coming in with all the violence that had to have taken place in the forest, and the constant ruckus of the drunks, she would not have expected this.

“So, this is what it looks like here. What do you think Tos?” She said as she stood up holding Tos up to see out the window as she walked over to the it and peered out. The mansion then caught her eye again, it stood out somehow, but it was in a way she couldn‘t quite describe. There didn’t seem to be any sign of what had happened the night before , but something still didn’t feel right about it. She wanted to know what had happened and why.
