Palaver, cont'd........................................Crap.
Lifting an eyebrow as the two gwees projected the good Rose's
conversation, I listened as the two Rose's and the gwees talked. When good Rose mentioned Luman being at fault, my eyes flashed dangerously. When demon Rose mentioned that it was their grandmother, I shot to my feet and snarled, "That b--"
"Dragon," Nerissa said, appearing on a display screen.
"What?" I asked, looking at the display screen.
"Ikkit has transmitted your cure," Nerissa replied. "Also, Kaida has something she wants to tell you."
"On screen."
"Dragon," Kaida said, nodding. "I felt you ought to know that Tikki and Ikkit kidnapped a black kitten from Koopa's place. Nerissa tells me--"
"They kidnapped Wolven?" I groaned. "Why?"
"They saw him transform a red dragon into an ice statue," Kaida replied.
"I was wondering when he'd learn that," I muttered. "Are they doing anything to him?"
"They're playing him in a
Arc the Lad monster tournement. Also, there is a white cat with a sleeping hampster on it's head at the gates."
"That would be Koopling," I sighed. "Don't let her on the grounds. Nerissa needs time to fix the house. Take Wolven to her."
"But--"
"Tell them that I said so," I replied.
"Very well," Kaida said. Looking over my shoulder, she saw Rose's Gwees. "Dragon--"
"Nerissa," I said, not wanting to discuss the Gwees with Kaida. "Make sure Tikki and Ikkit do what I say."
"Aye aye," Nerissa replied.
Turning back to the two Rose's and the Gwees, I opened my mouth to say something when the ship suddenly lurched first to to the left then to the right.
"What the hell!?" I yelled. Pointing at Rose and the gwees, I said, "You two stay put."
Slithering out of my quarters, I locked the door behind me and hurried to the bridge. "Nerissa?! What the hell happened?"
"EMP," Nerissa managed to say before all the electrical devices on board powered down. A few seconds later, the power came back on. Appearing on her display screen, Nerissa said, "Intruder alert. Intruder alert. Intruders on the bridge, in the captian's quarters, in the galley, and in Hanger Eighteen."
"I'm the only one on the bridge Nerissa," I said. "There's no intruders."
"Intruder alert. Intruder alert. Intruders on the bridge, in the captian's quarters, in the galley, and in Hanger Eighteen."
"Oh crap," I muttered, the worst coming to mind. Somehow, from the EMP blast, Nerissa's core personality had come to life; the one that was installed with the orignal Commonwealth program; the one my family had stored away because we wanted the ship.
