It was an extremely perfect day. I had finished my work and was playing video games. I was at the last level and was having a blast when, my mom said “Time to get your braces!” It was as if I were thrown into a black hole. The world went in to negative color! Where had the color gone and why was the car smirking?
I could see it now me having a mouth full of wires! As I entered the car my mom said “It will be ok.” She could tell that I was nervous. The drive seemed forever. I felt like a criminal on death row. As I walk in I had a feeling of impending doom. That’s when I heard scream of other unlucky souls reached my ears. I felt the hairs on my back go up as I heard the dentist say “Austin is next!” I could have sworn he gave a smirk as he called me in. I sat on the chair as the dentist came to give me the final look and then it started, it seem like hours of him pulling and tugging on my mouth. Finally he said “You are finished! You did a great job holding still!”
Then my trance into outer space was stopped, all the color came back and it was not so bad. I still was afraid to look in the mirror. But as I peered into the mirror, to my surprise I could hardly see them! ”Think of how your teeth will look in two years!” said the dentist.
Nervously I ask him “What was that screaming?” He said that he was practicing for Halloween to scare kids trick or treating, so they would not get cavities! I thought to my self “My dentist is a weirdo!”
So everything turned out ok and the lesson I learned from this was not to judge things till you have seen them!
