Carpe Diem Ad Muertum
Sieze the day, to the death. There is no potential that shall be passed by, there is no piece of glory to fall by the wayside, there is no soul to left unsaved by the brilliance of language. As writers, we are gods.
Plethora
This post isn't really focused on anything.

Jim Butcher (author of "The Furies of Caldoon" or some such and its trilogy) has amazing raw writing ability, but his grammar and technical skill are severely lacking. He drops prepositions! (read: he sins) However, the idea of furies, while not so appealing were they ubiquitous, is intriguing. Butcher's world has a fury for everything with an element- mountains, puddles, candles, hot/cold spickets; everything. I think they should be less proliferant and perhaps a bit more sentient than he makes them, if not necessarily linguistically gifted.

I have decided that a shogun raccoon would, in all circumstances, defeat a shogun koala. While koalas have great potential to be cool, their noses and ear hair make them utterly silly. A smaller nose and lack of ear hair would make them into formiddable shoguns, but raccoons would definitely rock. Just thinking of one in one of those conical hats is hilarious.

Listening: the Shadow Hearts 2: Covenant OST. It's amazing, if it does eventually grate on one's nerves. That's the point, given the theme of madness surrounding the plot line, but that doesn't prevent the metallic dissonance from being not at all appealing where it occurs in multiple sections of music. The base is also a bit heavy, but in general, the feel of the music where it is urgent/triumphant rather than insane is quite good.
