I don't know where to begin with this, but it's something I need to get out... And I could use a good rant. sweatdrop But I will warn you, it's long.
Okay, so it's like this. I'm a sophomore. In the morning, before classes start, I sit on the floor by my locker, and wait for my friends Ichigo_berry! and Conenz to get out of 0 hour. There are some people who stand around with me... acquaintances, if you will.
So, out of nowhere, comes this girl. She's tall, a little chunky--but I'm not one to judge on that--and she's a freshman. She'll be reffered to as "A".
So, this "A" girl comes up and starts talking to one of the girls near my locker, when she looks over to my opened locker and sees the Yu-Gi-Oh! and various other anime pictures that are plastered inside my locker. (Norms have their Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp pictures, I have my Marik Ishtar pictures...) And she goes, "Oh! You like Yu-Gi-Oh!?"
"Yes," I replied. And from there, the girl pretty much started ignoring the girl she was just talking to, and began chatting with me instead, about Yu-Gi-Oh, and how hot Pharoah Yami is.
I can't blame her for that. He's freaking eye candy.
But she babbles to me every day about it. Which I'm also fine with, only she's a total n00b. So, I take it upon myself to answer any questions she has, and quite honestly, I've goten kind of used to her now.
Now, in FACS the other day, this girl came up behind me and asked "Who's that on the back of your hoodie?". I was wearing a grey hoodie that I had drawn on the back of. I turned around to face her, she was a kind of heavyset girl who seemed a little bit old-fashioned, or out-of-style, which is cool, because I have a certain respect for people who don't "go with the flow". She will be known as "K".
"Oh..." I said kinda slowly. "It's this character from a Japanese cartoon... an anime... thing..." I mumbled. "His name's Marik, he's from--you might or might not have heard of-- Yu-Gi-Oh?"
"Oh, yeah, I've heard of it. I watch it."
"Oh, so I presume you like anime then?"
"...It's my life!" she said, giggling. She introduced herself, and told me her name, and nickname, which--coincidentially--is Ichigo_berry!'s name and nickname as well.
"Dude! You're like, my new best friend!" I yelled, jokingly. Just being friendly.
I think she took that out of context though.
The next day, she asked me for my phone number, which is fine, and I gave her mine. She called me that day after school, and we talked for a little bit. She babbled about Teen Titans alot, and some other shows that I don't watch to often. (Not saying that I don't like them or anything..! sweatdrop ) And she was a bit... I dunno how to finish that.
But then she says, "Hey, you should come over to my house on Saturday and we can hang out!". I fine offer, even though I've only known her about a day. But that led to "Maybe you can spend the night" and then, the most unexpected, "What religion are you?".
"What?" I asked. Wanting to know what she was getting at.
"You know, are you Christian, Catholic...."
"Oh. Well, technically Christian."
"I'm Roman-Catholic! Maybe you can go to church with me the next day too!"
Now, that's nice. It's a good, friendly thing to offer... but I've only known her for like, less than a day. Also, in that convo, she was telling me about her 3 best friends. The first 2, then she says, ".. and I guess the 3rd would be you! Because we just have so much in common! Whenever I have alot in common with someone, I'm all like 'You're my best friend'..."
Now, I don't know if she was seriously meaning that, or if she was just repeating what I said earlier--or if she actually thought I literally meant that-- or if she was just saying stuff to make me feel good... I don't know. But I think she took that a bit far. I mean, can you seriously know a person for a few sentences and a phone call of one day, and be their best friend? Come on. Maybe it's just me, but of my closest circle of friends, the one I've known the least I've known for at least 3 years. So, one day? That's overthinking, is it not? That, or she's just really desperate.
So, as it turns out, I had plans on Saturday to go over to Abunai's house. She was gonna have me, Ichigo_berry, and Conenz over to have a big manga party thing, which she's been planning for some time now. So, I let her know.
The next day, she asks me, "Do you know a girl named Conenz?".
"Shyeah," I replied. I thought about telling her I'd been friends with her since 2nd grade, but decided against it.
"Do you know a girl named "A"?".
I had to think about it for awhile, then it hit me. "Yeah, she stands around my locker in the morning... come to think of it, she was just talking about you today..." I said, remembering what "A" had said:
<flashback>
"A": You know that "K" girl? Ugh! I can't stand her!
Girl "A" was talking to: Yeah... (agreeing)
Me: Oh! I know her! I just befriended her the other day in FACS... sorta...
"A": *gets real serious* baka-baka, you do NOT want to be her friend. Don't be her friend.
Me: Why not? She claims to like anime. You guys might even get along.
"A": Does she like Yugioh?
Me: She says she watches it.
"A":Whatever, all she likes is DBZ and Disney movies. Just don't be her friend. Trust me.
</flashback>
I thought a moment. 'Who doesn't like Disney movies?' Then I continued telling "K", "Yeah, she was saying stuff like, 'oh, yeah, that "K" girl... blah blah blah...' and stuff.."
"Me and her used to be friends, but we got into fights..." she said. "But just to give you a heads up, she's a b***h."
Well now. Isn't this great. 2 Freshman anime n00bs who hate each other and they're both trying to be my friends. Wonderful situation.
So anyways, "K" asks me "What time can I call you tonight?".
"Well, I have piano lessons... then I eat dinner with my family... so, 7 pm, I guess if you want," I told her. She calls at 8 something when I was either in the shower or playing DDR. Mom answers, tells her I'll call back, I get out of the shower, mom tells me to call her back, I moan about it for awhile cause I have alot of homework but decide to call her back anyway just to tell her that I can't talk to her cause I'm busy, her phone's busy, I decide 'oh well, if anyone asks, I tried.' and don't try to call her back, she calls me again anyway, I end up talking to her... blah blah blah.
So, the NEXT DAY... I see her in FACS, blah blah blah... Conenz explains to me that in her choir class, she sits in between both "A" and "K" and she explains all this stuff about Yu-Gi-Oh to them, because they don't seem to know much... and apparently, they didn't know that anime's are edited and cut before they air here in the U.S., so she explained that, etc. etc.
So, "K" calls me on this day, and says "So, you're going to your friend's house on Sat.?"
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure." I let her know. Then she wanted to know if 'pretty sure' meant that there was a chance I wouldn't be, and I told her, that I more than likely will be going, but that my abunai just needed to check with her parents or whatever. She seemed to be aiming at something, so I told the girl, "Look, if it turns out that I'm not going, I'll let you know."
She also asked what I was doing on Friday. I normally go to the mall, but I had plans to have my piano teacher and her football crazed family over to watch "Friday Night Lights" which my parents just bought. I told her I was basically booked for that weekend. Then she tells me, "Well, I can't do anything next weekend cause I'm going on a camping trip with my family... unless you wanna come with me!"
I, of course, laughed, and brushed it off as just her joking. I also realised and told her that I had Kunicon to go to. Yesh, I'm excited, next weekend I'm going to a con! ^-^ She didn't know what cons were either, so I explained that. sweatdrop So, what I basically told her is "Well then, I guess we'll just have to do something the weekend after neither of us are busy... or just hang out at school. And if anything goes wrong on Saturday(tommorow, at the time), I'll call and let you know".
Now this is what gets me.
She goes, "Okay, well how about you call me to let me know about Saturday either way".
"What?"
"Like this: If your not going, you call me and let me know, but if you are going, then call me and let me know anyway just so that I'm not worried about what you're doing or anything..."
Worried? Did she just say worried? That's what got me, man. WORRIED!!! PAH! What does she have to "worry" about? I mean, what is she, my freakin' mother?! Is she obsessed with me or something? I don't know, but she has no reason to "worry" about me, or for that matter anything I do. I'm a big girl, I'm older than her, and I'm pretty damn well sure that I can take care of myself.
So I say, a bit sarcastic sounding, "Well... why would I need to call you to let you know that? I mean, you'll know if I call you what I'm doing. If I call you, then I'm not busy, if I don't call you, then I am. What's wrong with that?"
"Oh, well, it's just that that is what's more convienient for me.."
Convienient for her??! scream Who the hell does she think she is? Do I have to account to her every whim or something?! Is she my lord and master? I think not. mad
"If you insist..." I say, sounding sarcastic and kind of upset about it.
"Yes!" she giggled, "I insist!" Can she not get a clue? She's still being friendly about this, and I'm trying to indirectly let her know that I think she's ridiculous.
"Okay, whatever..." I said, still trying to sound like I was unwillingly agreeing to her stupid idea.
"Okay, see ya later!" she said... or, whatever she said. It was something along those lines, but she seems to say things like "Love ya like a sis" and stuff... so, it was some kind of goodbye or another.
"See ya," I said, and hung up, just as I heard her starting to say something else. I didn't intentionally do that, but, I noticed that I did. I had actually had the phone on speaker at the moment, so that my sister(who wanted to hear our conversation) heard that I had hung up on her too. She looked at me, and I looked down at the phone, and for the first time in a while let out a very enthusiastic, maniacal, evil laugh. I jumped up and down once and yelled "I damn well hope she was going to say something important!" xp
Of course, I wasn't planning on calling the girl either way from the beginning, cause I was a little annoyed by her, but now I had even more reason not to. Here it is, it's Saturday, and I'm NOT going to call her! HAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!
Anyways, that brings this tale to a basic close, and I don't really think there's any moral other than I've learned that obsesive, slightly annoying people are attracted to me for some reason beyond my control, and I don't know why that is. Cause lemme' tell ya, this isn't my only story of people like this. There's this "N" girl... but she's another story.
In short, thank you for reading my nonsense, and I'm sorry if you did, because your brain is probably fried right now. I must tell you though, that despite how long this is... it's actually the SHORT VERSION.
'Till next time, I'm baka-baka, and this has been... whatever the crap the name of my journal is. G'day.

I think the name pretty much covers it all.
