Carpe Diem Ad Muertum
Sieze the day, to the death. There is no potential that shall be passed by, there is no piece of glory to fall by the wayside, there is no soul to left unsaved by the brilliance of language. As writers, we are gods.
Despondency vs. Euphoria
I have thought long hours and determined that the only thing worth the emotion known by humans as sorrow is ruined, lost, or forgotten potential. This is equated with the idea that the thing most worthy of ecstasy is disclosed, fulfilled, or realized potential. Because that's all you really ever have: potential. Everything else boils down to memories of fulfilling that potential. The moment such fulfillment occurs, no morphine high can compare with the euphoria experienced during it. Obviously, this is implying lifelong dreams, nonmaterial achievement, and etceteras, but I suppose you can be euphoric when you get a Wii, too... However, the opposing force is despondency, brought on only by the loss of potential, or by one's own sense that intense and public sorrow or at least mention of it will bring about increased levels of awareness of one's presence, but that's a dirty trick. You lose the potential to shine forth; you lose the potential to do a selfless deed; you lose the potential to prove that you exist. When you see someone who has lost potential... it's like watching someone die. It is watching someone die.
Therefore, because you don't want to make other people feel obliged to feel sorrow for your potential impotence, fulfill every dream, every cause, every aspiration you can lay your hands on. Never hesitate, even for your own glory. Make real the ethereal, the transient, the unseen. In the moments by which you truly live you become more than this human... thing you have been. You are closer to God, closer to paradise, closer to an eternity in which you have not just an undying spirit, but immortal flesh.

...

I have to do that every once in a while. It's better than ranting, and accomplishes the same purpose.

Wow.

If you wrote this at the end of an AP English essay, you'd get a nine for having an epiphany, despite all possibilities of it being irrelevant to the prompt. It made sense, and was strangely... I'm not sure what word I'm looking for. Enlightening, perhaps?
Philosophical musings are love heart .
