He smiled and sat beside her, thinking a moment before beginning. "Long ago...when the Creator made the world, and all things that dwell in it, man and dragon were friends. There were two main trees in the place where man lived, one called the Tree of Life, the other, the Tree of Knowledge. Man was tempted by the serpent to eat the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, and did so, believing on the serpent's words, that he would then be like God in knowing what was wrong and what was good. God sent the man and his wife from the place where they lived, but the dragons, who were such good friends with the humans, asked to help them in their toils. God allowed it, and sent the dragons from the place where they had lived also, to find the man and his wife. They did, and were welcomed as friends..."

The dragon and his wife also had two children, Kenmare and Anathema, both female, the first to guard Abel, the second to guard Abel. When it came time to give offerings to God, Abel gave the best pieces of the first born lamb in his flock, and God was very pleased with this offering. When Kane gave his, which was a small amount of vegetables, not at all the best among them, God was not pleased. Kane became jealous of Abel, and killed him.
