Well I suppose I should update everyone as to what i'm doing with myself these days.
Firstly I got a pretty good job a few months back at Lonestar comics, or rather Mycomicshop.com, one of if not the largest comicbook sellers in the country. I work out in the warehouse Filing and pulling comics for orders. I also get a pretty kickass discount since I'm a comic geek, 20% off my comics is awesome, and it moves to 30 % when I'm there a year. Only 3 1/2 months to go.
Secondly I'm getting my health issues under control. For those in the dark Last august i started having these heinous sulfuric burps that almost always led to me vomiting and being completely drained for the better part of two days. Well apparently what ever it is is fixed by this lovely purple pill my Doctor has prescribed me called Nexium. It even makes it to where I can have milk products again. ( YAY CHEESE!) I'm also taking medication for my mood swings, Symbyax, which is basically for a bi-polar medication, even though I'm not entirely sure what I was diagnosed with. Everyone says I'm alot different on it than I was off of it.
Thirdly I'm starting a business with two of the people I work with at Lonestar and two other friends. We're calling ourselves Blackhole Comics and are planninga November release for our first book. You can download a ten page ashcan at blackholecomics.com. I drew Jimmy Horrendous and the search for the sandwich aplenty. It's about Jimmy, a callcenter employ who is on a uest to rescue his sandwich from the clutches of the breakroom, and ends up inadvertantly foiling the plans of the sinister(-ish) Doctor Hideous Fiendous. I've finished drawing the first issue, and my Writer, Sato, and I are hammering out the layouts of the for the second issue. I'm also working on a story that will be featurred in another Black Hole Comics book Tales From the Hole, an anthology book, called Rose Quartz ( some of you may recognize that name as a comic idea I had in High School)
Finally I've also decided not to go to SanDiego this year and whore myself out to editors so I can try and focus on Black Hole. I figure the easiest way into comics is to force my way in.
So I guess that's it for now. But I'll be back soon. I swear I'll try to post more.
