Serena: *Looking for Angel. Finally finds her sitting in front of the computer while Godsmack's song Voodoo is playing from the speakers* Uh, Angel? *Nudges her arm and Angel's head flops back* Great, she's totally asleep. Angel. Angel you need to start the story now. Angel! *Turns the speakers off and Angel sits bolt upright*
Angel: Hey! I was listening to that!
Serena: No, you were asleep.
Angel: I was?
Serena: Yup.
Angel: Damn... Must be from running a mile in pe today... Damn shin splints.
Serena: You need to start the story now.
Angel: Oh, yeah. I guess so... Thanks again to eo_lahallia21291 for the review and please don't kill me for putting this in a day late, and just like I promised this one will be longer. *Turns the speakers back on*
Last time: Angel and Serena arrived at Angel's house and Serena got a start from Angel's ability to sense her emotions.
"...It all started when I was 10. My mother had just died from cancer and my father wasn't happy with anything I did. He finally disowned me and I had to fend for myself. I didn't like to go out in the streets because everyone gave me strange looks and the other kids always made fun of me. I started staying in the alleyways and that's where I found Clara and Mia," She took a sip of her tea and motioned towards her cats, "When I turned 12 I literally ran into this strange man dressed all in black. He said he was a friend and could give me great power, but it would cost me. The price was half of my soul for power enough that I didn't have to run away any more. I agreed and he gave me this chain," She held up her right arm, "And my bow. He also gave me some magical powers that I'm still learning, so far the only one I know is called the Shadow Shroud. It..."
"I am familiar with what the Shadow Shroud can do," Angel interrupted, "I also know that when you give half of your soul you can get the other half back."
"Really? I didn't know that."
"Yup," Angel finished her tea and took the two empty cups to the sink, "So, now that you've told me that I have one question to ask you," She paused, "What are you going to do now?"
Serena opened her mouth, then promptly shut it. She opened it again and said, "I honestly don't know..."
"Well you are welcome to stay here but I have to warn you, this area is a small part of a very large wolf pack's territory. Also the pack is separated into four different sections and tomorrow night is midsummer night, the night of the pack's summer meeting. You can stay if you like, or you can go, it's your choice."
Serena thought about it for a little while then asked, "Where do I sleep?"
Angel smiled at the prospect of having company, "I have a guest bedroom upstairs. It's down the hallway second door on the left, the bathroom is the first, and my room is first on the right. Let me know if there is anything you need or if you run out of something."
"I will," She smiled with pure delight at the thought of having a real bed to sleep in.
"Ok then, dinner will be at 6:30 and we'll be having fish. Is that acceptable?"
"Of course! I love fish!"
"Then you'd fit right in at a Foxling village," Angel smiled and went upstairs leaving Serena to entertain herself. Her cats were still curled up by Coryn in the sun so she went over to the stereo and turned it on. Coldplay's song White Shadows came on and Serena wondered just what other surprises this vixen had up her sleeves.
-----------------------------
"Wow! This smells delicious!" Serena stared at the delightful looking meal. "How did you make this?"
"After I became blind my old mentor had to teach me over again, one of the things I had to be taught was how to cook. This is an authentic Foxling dish made from fresh salmon and hadock," Angel smiled remembering the cooking lessons and the many burns from them.
They ate with light, cheery conversation each enjoying having the company of a friend. After they were done there were still four pieces of fish on the table.
"Looks like you made a little too much," Serena said stretching, ready for a good night's sleep.
"No, I made just enough," And with that Angel picked up three empty plates off the table, put two pieces of fish on one and one on each of the other two. She then set them on the floor where Clara, Mia, and Corn could eat.
"I thought dragons ate red meat," Serena asked a bit confused.
"Most do, but Coryn grew up eating fish."
"I see," She helped Angel clear the table and picked the plates up off the floor after the three buddies had had their fill.
"Night," Angel said after they had gotton upstairs.
"Good night," Serena replied stifling a yawn before she entered her room. When she did she was completely taken aback. The room had a four poster bed, two window, an oak dresser, and a reclining chair in front of an average sized tv. She really knows how to treat her guests, Serena thought before taking off her hat, coat, and shoes, leaving the door slightly open for her cats, and climbing into bed where she fell immediately into a deep sleep.
Angel: Ok, another addition done, and it's only 8:30 pm. That's a new record.
Serena: I'm just glad you stuck to your promise to eo.
Angel: What are you talking about? I always keep my promises.
Serena: That's not what I heard.
Angel: And where did you hear that, a little bird? Come on be serious. *Plays Coldplay's song Speed of sound*
Serena: Well, now that Angel has some music she's gonna nod off, so bye bye and please review.
