Twilight - - AAAAAAAH
We were the kings and queens of promise
We were the victims of ourselves

𐐊 𐐀 𐐥 𐐆

So basically, the only reason I am posting anything is because I am bored out of my mind and boredom kills (don't argue, it does) and I don't want to die right now so I need to occupy my mind with some failure attempt at writing something even though I feel utterly stupid writing this for no apparent reason. Savvy?

Okay, so let's start with ranting about something. And I've picked out a subject, TWILIGHT! Ah ha! One of the books that really doesn't deserve to be called a book yet made the author (who is a complete failure) a millionaire and it just sort of makes me sick that it can even be considered in the same category of literature as truly amazing books out there. Oh and by the way, some schools even assign that book as Summer Reading, write an essay about it crap. Way to make our generation brain dead.
Okay okay, I found some rant-able material, so I was surfing the net for critics, comments about Stephenie Meyer's book -- no, let's rephrase that. Stephenie Meyer's wad of paper and Stephen King (Not a great author but eeeh) wrote a pretty good critic about her book:

‘People are attracted by the stories, by the pace and in the case of Stephenie Meyer, it’s very clear that she’s writing to a whole generation of girls and opening up kind of a safe joining of love and sex in those books. It’s exciting and it’s thrilling and it’s not particularly threatening because they’re not overtly sexual. A lot of the physical side of it is conveyed in things like the vampire will touch her forearm or run a hand over skin, and she just flushes all hot and cold. And for girls, that’s a shorthand for all the feelings that they’re not ready to deal with yet.

Okay so take note that he's talking about pre-teen girls who have yet to experience a relationship. So basically he's saying that her book appeals to the pre-teen girls that believe in the prince charming guy who is flawless, perfect who is going to come and love them but never do anything sexual other than the "touch her forearm". Oh my! How indecent, the forearm, what shame! What shame!
But there's the harsh reality, if you want to call it harsh. Relationships aren't perfect. And in Twilight, it's speaking the contrary, brainwashing girlies to believe that it's always love with the guy you think is cute and it's going to be the perfect, pink, fluttery relationship, with sprinkles when most of the time, it's not even love.
Okay so then after that critic I saw this comment that sort of made me shudder:

" Okay. Here's the thing. I don't agree with Stephen King at ALL. I love Stephanie Meyer even before she got really big. When I was little my mom used to collect Stephen King books and read them. I love books especially about the supernatural, but Stephen King's books are just not good. I can't read them because they can't draw me in. I just don't like his writing. It's not that it's hard for me understand, it's just not for me.
I love Stephanie Meyer's books BECAUSE they have barely any sexual actions in them. That's all the world is today is sex and it's amazing that someone can still write without getting all hot and heavy about things. Stephen King has no idea what he's talking about. I think that he might feel threatened by Stephanie Meyer because her books are so big and his aren't as they used to be. That's just my opinion.
I loved how Stephanie Meyer wrote the Twilight books because she didn't write alot about sexual encounters and she still kept us readers totally captivated. She and J.K Rowling aren't that different like Mr. King says. J.K. Rowling is just more into magic instead of vampires. Whoever says Stephanie Meyer can't write is crazy. I don't know what I would've done without all these great books that she's written. They given me hope when I was going through really hard times regarding my health and I will be forever greatful to her. Thank you."

Okay yes, you must read it all so if you didn't, go back and read. Now note, she writes that she liked it because Stephenie Meyer didn't write jack s**t about sexual? So? That's what makes a book good now? Because she didn't write about baby-making? I mean face it, sex is everywhere. Sure porn ******** it up a lot but it's everywhere, we're creating by sex so if you can't handle the fact that sex is quite an important component within all living things than I don't know, go hide under a rock. Then, this crazy person writes that the book gave her hope when she was going through really tough times...Okay granted they made you feel better but you got to read basically a story that constantly revolves "I love you. You'll die. I still love you. I'm leaving. No I love you.".
Yay? Frankly it gets ******** boring, it's like, we get it, you love him, he loves you, he's a cheesy sparkly vampire who eats elk blood and you are just a human. Woopee?
Point is, Stephenie Meyer's writing style isn't the least bit good. It's all about this perfect love and it's a wee bit tiring. I don't know. I'm losing my steam now. But I guess, like the lady commented, I must be crazy to think Stephenie Meyer can't write. Who knows?
