Woot! I am so happy! I finished the drawing and my scanner works! *jumps around* Anyway, here's the finished product:
Hope you like it. It's the first time I've actually shaded. I think I'll submit this to the art arena *smiles*

Okay, I got the picture in by scanning it in to mom's computer and then emailing it to myself....now I just realized one thing....his head is too big! *sigh* Do not worry I shall fix that though. *starts working on original*
Well, I showed my sketchbook to my school art teacher on Thursday. She said that they I was a very good drawer and I understood the human anatomy very well *smiles*. That really boosted up my self-esteem. She also told me that she wants me to use other mediums besides pencils like charcoal and to draw what I "see". I guess she means I have to draw more realisticly.
I tried using charcoal for my first time and so far I hate it. It's too messy in my opinion but then again I guess I have to get my hands dirty at some point. I also bought a new sketchbook (Yay!) because I finished my old one. It has a leather-like, black cover which I like. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has spiral binding. crying With the places I go and the way I treat my stuff, I know the springs are going to unravel. However, I need the spiral binding so I can scan my drawings into the computer.
Okay, I have two drawings to show you: The first is a hand done with charcoal. This was my first time using charcoal and I'm pretty sure that I'm going to work on this piece because it still looks to....basic. Yeah. There's hardly any real shading in my opinion so hopefully I'll get around to finishing it. Also, I have a feeling there is something wrong with the fingers. Then again, I drew my own left hand and the way my fingers were were kind of wierd. blaugh If you have any comments on my drawing, feel free to criticize.
eek Oh no! .....this is what I get for scanning a black and white image in color....I get those wierd rainbow lines.... stare .
I also have another drawing to show. It isn't finished but I want to put it up because I have no idea what I want to do with the guy's right arm (the one on your left). I also have not really started drawing the shirt and I still have put in wrinkles (memo to self: find references on where the wrinkles should go). However, I really like what I did with the face. The eyes are still stylized but I like the way the hair is and the glasses.....(scanner starts making funny noises) Noooooo! *sulks* Well, I guess I will have to show you the drawing next time when I figure out what is wrong with the scanner.

I hate to say it but Paint Shop Pro is not what I'm used to. It's my first time coloring something with a computer in a long time and I know that this pic has no shading or anything that makes it look pretty. It doesn't even have a background sweatdrop ........I need art lessons....and computer graphics lessons.
I did this for my Shakespeare class not too long ago. We had to do a presentation on elements of Death in the Tragedy of Hamlet, so I figured I'd draw something for it. I know it's sort of gruesome.....On the top is Yorick, the skull of the King (old hamlet's) Jester. Too the right is Polonius' rotting body. The Scanner cut off part of his face. At the bottom is Hamlet face down on the stone floor, bleeding from his right arm. Each is a scene from the play.

Okay. I've added another drawing although this time it's not from my sketchbook. I wanted to draw my avatar and edit her in PSP so I could put her in my sig. However, I messed up her foot. I did not want to completely do away with the picture though. I liked everthing I did except maybe for the eyes and definetley the one foot I messed when I tried inking the drawing (Inking is still something new to me). So I'm putting up the sketch here and I traced parts of the drawing that I like on another piece of paper. Perhaps some would like to compare this sketch and the finished product when I get that done.
Another thing is I have Enya- "May it Be" stuck in my head:
May it be An evening star Shines down Upon you
May it be When darkness falls Your heart Will be true
You walk along a road Oh how far you are from home
Mornië utúlië Believe and you Will find your way
Mornië alantië A promise lives Within you now
May it be The shadow's call Will fly away
May it be A journey on To light the day
When the night is all gone You may rise To find the sun
This is the first drawing I ever scanned to my computer. It's Laguna's Profile Picture from Final Fantasy VIII. I have to admit though the eyes look a bit wierd. I think I had this drawing in the art arena before Gaia canceled my old account.

Hi everyone! I know I should post my art in the art arena but I will do separate drawings for that. I just want to post my sketchbook drawings and make my own comments on them. Also, I do plan on putting random stuff like my own thoughts on things in general and maybe getting some lyrics in as well.
