Questyness
Current Mood: Sleepy Currently listening to: Groove Coverage Currently reading: Oathbreakers (got side tracked xp) Currently watching: Inuyasha Currently playing: Final Fantasy XII (I'm almost done, but I've gotten side tracked fromthis as well xp) Quote: Where does the time go? In front or in back. It depends on which way you are looking. ~one of David Eddings' characters, Belgarion I believe.
Well, work and school still kick my butt (which is why I haven't played or read for some time...). I've also been trying to get somethings cleaned, my car needs repaired, and I've just got about a half a million things to do. :sigh: Plus, it looks like two managers quit at work. Ugh, more stuff for me to work around. :strech: Meh, oh well such is life.
Anyway, this entry is actually a note about my current quest. I'm questing for the Mini Angel Wings and later the Sash that I was unable to get the first time I quested for it (life interrupted that quest...). I'm holding several contests in the thread; and the total gold worth is over 30k. There's a random number contest, two bump contests, and an avatar contest. ^^ If whoever reads this is so inclined, please take a look at the quest and enter some of the contests. Well, work has been both good and bad lately. We finally got some people hired so I can relax a bit now. That means I can take a few days off and deal with getting my emissions tested on my car... stare I detest emissions testing... It'll be interesting to see what happens to the new crew at work. A few of them are already getting fed up with one of the managers that I have a big problem with. 3nodding Maybe something will finally happen to the manager so they either get the act together, quit, or get fired. Any of the above is fine with me. smile I also got to paint the windows of our store for Halloween. I love doing that. xd I stay off the clock, but I get a flat fee of $75. A nice little bonus for doing something I like, and it only takes me four hours or so.
Speaking of art, I finally got my muse back. Woot! blaugh whee I've been drawing a few things lately. Most of it stuff for contests here on Gaia. I entered Teku's art chalange, am working on several pices for the Soul contest, and have an idea in the works for an entry in a third contest. Aside from doing art for others, I have even got a few rough sketches for myself. Now I just need the time to sit down and work on them. At least with the new hires that might be possible.
I've even been able to spit out a poem or two here and there. I would like to pick up my fan fiction comissions again, but realisticly I don't think I have the time to do them. sad Much of my writting creativity ends up going into my college papers. I tend to do them 15 minutes before they are due...not a practice I recomend unless you are very HIGHLY skilled in both bs and English. Being a very fast typist helps greatly as well.
I plan on getting a keyboard synth here sometime. I've got a few modles in mind and really want to play one. I'm not sure when I'll be able to get one, but I'm looking foreward to it. I could put in a few extra hours and earn a little extra cash to speed up the process in getting one, but I'm getting burnt out on work as it is. One of the first songs I want to learn is Shinning Collection from Gravitation. I love that song. heart

Work sucks, manga rocks
Current Mood: scream Agitated Currently listening to: A mix Currently reading: Don't Worry Mama Currently watching: Nothing Currently playing: Nothing
Okay, I need to get on a soap box for a bit here. :grabs nearest box of soap and stands on it: Work has been horrid the past two days. I'm sick and tired of workers leaving the building without informing anyone and not returning for several hours. A few nights ago two of us stayed extra to help out on one of the shifts, and the manager in charge sat outside for over an hour talking with her friend. What bugs me about that is that one of us staying after had been their since the morning shift. Instead of sending that one home, the manager messed around on the clock. Yes, I'm a manager, but so is this person. Yes, I out rank this person since I'm manager not just assistant, but I can't fire anyone without the owner's consent; nor can I do much about the assistant managers without the owner's consent. Last night one of the various couples at work had some complications. The two of them snuck out the back and sat outside for about an hour. I'm glad they are willing to talk about their problems and all, but DON'T do it on my clock. I manage the store and have other things to do than try covering two peoples jobs. Frankly, I could careless about a worker's outside life. That's their bussiness and unless they ask for my help or it interferes with their work, its not my bussiness. The thing I hate about having couples work for me is if something goes wrong I often end up as mediator. Not a fun job and not something I should be doing. I graduated high school and I'm still having to deal with high schoolers and their stupid love lives... stare
Now that that's out of my system, after all of this drama, I went out and bought manga. ^^ heart I picked up Tarot Cafe and am completely addicted to it. I love the story about the jester and Belus is my favorite character. I have four volumes and can't wait to get my hands on another. Dear Myself is out in English which was a deligtful surprise. I love that manga and am happy to have a hardcopy rather than just my scanlations. They just need to liscence Koi Cha Na Oushahou and Koi Wo Itsumo Arashi No Yuu Ni Ai and I'll be a very, very happy bl fangirl. ^^ Though now that I think about it, I need to get my hands on the English release of Menkui. I love that manga as well. Its a bit slow and more cutesy than hardcore, but its fun still. Ramen Ikaga is fun to. I wonder if that'll get liscenced here too... I picked up vol 7 of Hands Off and must say I'm dissapointed. The first volumes are great, but these later ones just don't have the same flair. Its nice to see their powers grow and all, but I'd like to see more development between the character relationships (no I don't just mean Tatsuki and Kotaru). I picked up several other manga and some bl novels as well, but I haven't read through some of them, and some of them I've read the scanlations for so I know what to expect. If anyone reads this and would like to recomend a new title to me (by new I mean something that has come out in the past 4 months or so) please pm me. I'm looking for some new series to read. Do keep in mind I have well over 500 graphic novels (I haven't counted my collection in the past six months so I probably have close to 600) and usually pick up the less common titles.

Manga and stuff
Current Mood: Sleepy Currently listening to: A mix Currently reading: Let Dai Currently watching: Nothing Currently playing: Nothing (been focusing on other stuff)
Okay, I finished Vampire Game and frankly I'm dissapointed. I know Ishtar and Darres are supposed to be together, but I prefer the Duzzel/Ishtar pairing. Duzzel is also my favorite character, and what happens just makes me want to cry in dissapointment. I kinda figured Ishtar's child would be Phelios, but with that little twist about Sharlen, I was hoping for him to be Phelios. Sharlen or the red head half sea monster boy (can't think of his name). I am very glad Faalan and Vord ended up together, I like that pair. ^^ :sigh: I'm just still very dissapointed in that series. I wonder if she just didn't know how to end the story or something...
Well with the bitter after taste of Vampire Game, I have set my sights on a new manga, Let Dai. I have the three volumes of it that are out and I love it. Dai is definatly my favorite character. I love the whole story. The second book was a bit of a drag, but still not bad. I have decided the girls in the manga need to be shot. I don't like any of them. Usually there's at least one cool girl in a manga, but not here.
I'm also starting to get into Absolute Boyfriend. I just hope it doesn't water out too much later on. Watasee tends to do that with her manga. Fushigi Yugi was great, but her other ones seem to fizzle out to me. Ayashi no Ceres stared out great, but it lost me about when Chidori came into the picture. I liked the angst and conflict at the beginig, but things seemed to water out too much as the story went on. I also didn't like how so many Celestial Maidens appeared in the manga. Plus, the whole thing with Aki got on my nerves. Alice 19th didn't end up too bad. A little typical in spots, but not bad. Imadoki was also a little ify. I liked it alot at the begining, but was dissapointed by the ending. I wanted a little more than the story gave.
Edit: You know looking back I haven't put up much about work... I think that's actually a good thing, but for consistency's sake, here's my two cents about work: First, why can't people hold jobs? I swear everytime we hire someone another two people quit; without a two week notice at that. If anyone ever wants to quit their job please, please, give a two week notice. It is beyond helpfull, profesional, and just plain curtious. Second, if its happy hour and drinks are half price, why do people order ice cream? stressed Our ice cream items are not on happy hour prices, so why not get some drinks and come back later for the ice cream? Or better yet forget the ice cream all toegther. That's what places like Ben & Jerry's, Baskin Robbins, Dairy Queen, and what not are for. Incidently all three of these places are within two block of our store, not to mention the resturant next door sells various flavors of ice cream. We only have vanilla. Anohter thing, DO NOT change your order at the window or after we are coming outside with your order. You have no idea how much trouble that causes us.
