so here's chapter one of my story.....i hope you guys like it. if you have any suggesions for me that would be greatly appreciated.
Chapter 1
“Dead?!” “Yes, you were officially dead five days ago at 9:45 pm. You were found at an intersection, you and your parents were in a car accident, along with your brother who died last night.” I tried to ingest the information that just entered my ears. “What you said can’t be true.” I told him. “If I was dead, then you wouldn’t be here talking to me.” “That’s why I’m here.” he explained. “As I told you before, your case is strange. The doctors have tested you time and time again, and all reports come back the same, you are dead, gone to the other side, deceased, departed, lifeless, gone, passed on. So they called me.” “What about my parents?” I tried not to think about what happened to them. “They really are dead, they died on impact.” I was still confused. “Are you sure my brother was there?” “Of course, we had family members come and identify all the bodies, yours included.” I hated the sound of being called a body. “Why do you ask?” Dr. Robertson put his clip board away and checked my IV bag again. “Because I don’t remember my brother in the car with us at the time.” “Well sometimes that happens when someone like you is in a traumatic situation.” I was still confused, none of this made any sense. I tried to sit up, but the restraints kept me down. “Can you untie me?! It’s not like I’m going to bite off your head!” “I’m truly sorry.” Dr. Robertson unbuckled the restraints around my wrists and stomach. As I sat up I noticed that he tightened the restraints around my ankles. “I’m sorry again, hospital policies.” he said. “What am I supposed to do now?” “Well, we need to relocate you to a new city with a new name and new….everything. Everyone thinks you’re dead, and we need them to keep thinking that.” “I must be dreaming.” I pinched myself. Damn, I could feel the pain. “Now that you know everything you need to know at the present time, please----” “What do you mean?! All you’ve told me is that my family and I supposedly are dead. But you neglected to tell me how I ended up shackled to a bed and talking to you like I just woke up from a night’s rest!” Dr. Robertson took a pair of glasses from his coat. “You were reborn.” “I was what?!” “Reborn. Many people in my field like to use this classification on people like you. Apparently, your body functions don’t work, yet your brain animates your muscles and tissues giving you a life-like appearance.” I looked at him like he was crazy. The words coming from his mouth couldn’t have matched what he saw right in front of him. It’s not like I was a zombie or the ‘undead’ like he just described. I was me, human and apparently mistaken as dead. “I can tell that you’re still confused.” he said. “And you should be. Being reborn takes awhile to get used to, and there’s not a lot of information for anyone to understand it. But if you’re willing to, I can help you.” I was skeptical. But I didn’t want to stay in this place any longer than I had to. “How exactly are you going to help me?” Dr. Robertson took out a piece of paper from his clip board. “Do you know what this is?” he asked me. “It’s a death certificate.” I realized. “Exactly, if you listen to my plan I can help you get out of here.” I nodded my head. “Ok, I’ll listen.” “All I have to do is sign this piece of paper and you’re legally dead to the world. Then what I will do is put you in a body bag, from there you will be placed in the back of a van. You must stay motionless at that time until I give you the word. About fifteen to thirty minutes into the ride I’ll let you out. Then we’ll switch cars. After all that, you’ll end up in a mid house where you’ll stay for awhile.” “You’ve done this a lot?” I asked sarcastically. “You could say that. There’s a lot more people like you than you think.” And with those words he scribbled his name on the death certificate, and walked out of the room. I lay down and closed my eyes. That’s when I realized that I didn’t have to breathe. It felt weird not breathing, I guess because my body was so used to it now. I heard the door open and two men talking. “Did you unbuckle her restraints?!” the man said, he had a slight jersey accent. “Yes, I had to check her whole body, she’s quiet dead.” Dr. Robertson said calmly. “Are you sure?” the man sounded frightened. “About the same time last year, another guy like you came in and said a kid was dead. Come to find out he wasn’t.” “What happened?” Dr. Robertson sound nervous. “This kid, he…did things. He attacked a bunch of us and killed two nurses.” “Well I assure you, I have been doing this my whole life, and I don’t make mistakes. She is dead.” “Well then take her away; we don’t want anyone thinking people are dying here.” I could feel a hand on my fore head. I felt my body being lifted and placed on a cold fabric. The sound of the zipper going up my body was eerie; I had to restrain myself from shivering. The doctors buckled me in at the chest, stomach and legs. I felt extremely uncomfortable while they pushed me down the quiet hallway. “Take her out back.” The jersey man said. “You’ll find a hearse there.”
A few minutes later the cart stopped and loaded me into the hearse, they weren’t to gentle about it either. I heard the car start and move. It wasn’t long till we came to a stop. I could hear the sound of traffic coming from outside. Robertson opened the back and pulled my body bag out. As he unzipped it, I could see that it was dawn, and that we were under an overpass. As my eyes focused into the semi-dark area, I saw another man leaning against a blue mini copper. His hair was blond and spiked; his eyes were a dark blue, almost a black. His jeans were torn and his shirt was crimson with a denim jacket over it. As I steadied myself after stepping out the bag, Dr. Robertson handed me new clothes. “You might look little weird in hospital clothes.” the blond guy said. I took the clothes and undressed behind the hearse. They gave me a black calf length skirt and a short sleeved dark green shirt. I stepped out to see Dr. Robertson who was talking to the guy. “Don’t worry.” the doctor said turning to me. “Once you get to the mid-house you can change.” he waved me to the passenger seat of the copper. The blond guy soon joined me on the driver’s side. “hello.” he said. “My name’s Charlie.” “Elisabeth.” I said. “Do you know where we’re going?” he asked Why would I know? I was in a body bag for the whole ride; I don’t even know where I was now. And besides, isn’t he the driver? “I have no clue.” “I’ll give you a hint; it’s in the north east.” Well that didn’t narrow it down. “Give up?” he asked. I had to nod, there were millions of possibilities and I couldn’t think of one place. “Sure.” I said with little interest. “We’re going to a small town in New England.”

ok, so with much thought, i decided to start posting the story that i'm writing here. i'll only do it by chapter...and if i get some good feedback then i'll add more later....so here it is....keep in mind i might change some parts later.
Stalk: book one By Sarah Belk
Prologue:
i never thought of dying like this. Lying on the ground as the rain turns to needles on my skin? Someone shot me. I could still feel the burning that the bullet made in my stomach. It was the most painful thing that I’ve ever endured. I felt like I was suffocating. The air around me did nothing to ease the feeling. As my breathing grew short and shallow, my eyes started to close slowly. My lungs burned as they stopped being used and I could hear my heart beat pound in my ears, it beat hard and quick. Then it stopped altogether and my eyes closed.
It seemed like moments later when I heard voices all around me. I don’t think they were talking to me, as much as they were talking about me. Some screamed and argued while some were calm and steady. Then there was silence. That’s when I chose to open my eyes. The light wasn’t as bright as I imagined it would be, on the contrary it was quite dim.
I felt a cold hand on my arm, then an unspeakable pain through my body. I looked at my side and saw a man inject a clear liquid into my veins. “You’ll be better in a few hours.” he told me. “Shut your eyes now.” The man’s face was hidden by a doctor’s mask. His face became blurry as my eyes fluttered shut. Was this how heaven was? Or was I in hell?
I woke up in a white room; there were no windows around me. I was strapped to a small bed. My left arm had an IV tube in it; the liquid slowly dripped down and went into my arm from a few feet away. My clothes were different too; they were all white and made my black hair the only color inside the room. I looked around me, there wasn’t anything else. It was like I was alone, surround by a mountain of freshly fallen snow, like there wasn’t any other living thing to disturb the setting. I could see a faint outline of a door on the wall facing me. I didn’t now how long I had stayed here, but I wanted out. I felt trapped in an artificial world that would make no sound and no other movement then my own. I heard voices coming from the door as it opened to reveal a middle aged man. His clothes were a little off from his real size, because the suit he wore was too big and looked like a child put on their parents clothes. “Miss Elisabeth Faller?” he asked. I nodded. “I’m sorry to tell you this, but you and your family were in a car accident. Your parents and brother weren’t able to make It.” his brown eyes looked at me with sorrow. The words struck blow to the gut. I couldn’t breathe and I started crying immediately. “And there’s more bad news.” he said. “How could things get worse?! Huh?!” “It appears that you’re dead as well.”
so that's it for the prologue...tell me if it's good or not.
