Abriana looked at Waran as if he had three heads ...well ...she technically was already looking at him like that ...so she just looked at him in even more surprise. "What could you mean by my kingdom?" She asked, taking a step away from him. "This has to be some mistake!"
He shook his head solemnly and bowed grandly towards her. "Tis no mistake. You have survived the witches. They have brought you to us. I'm sure you understand how important a-" But before he could finish Abriana was sprinting away from him and all of the joy and merriment.
Her heart was pounding in her chest. Not only did she not know where she was, it was assumed by these creatures that she was some kind of royalty! She'd heard of this in stories and in fantasy books, but this must just be some crazy hallucination. Slowing slightly, she nodded. "It must be a hallucination. Or a dream." Coming to a complete stop, she looked around.
She was standing on a dirt road. There were a few lightposts that were spread out with a great distance in between, and she was standing under the light. Looking closely, she saw that it wasn't an electrical light, but many many fireflies clustered together. "You'd think they would just use plain fire or electricity." Abriana said quietly to herself as she looked around the road.
There were divots in the road, and since they used fireflies for lightposts, she guessed they were there because they had carriages instead. Sitting with her back against the lightpost, she looked up when she heard a creaking noise. Blinking slightly, she watched something coming closer to her on the road. Moving as close to the light as she could, she watched the thing come into the light in front of her, and her eyes widened farther than they had all night long.
There, standing rather nonchallantly in front of her, was a horse like creature. She would have expected a regular horse, or even then a pegasus or a unicorn, but this was just ...unusual! This horse ...or she assumed it was at least part horse, had to have been at least eight feet tall, and instead of a horse looking face, it looked like a bats! Before she could let out a scream, she looked to the thing it had been pulling. It wasn't a carriage that was for sure. Rather than a box on wheels, it looked much like a pyramid. And there weren't wheels. It looked like it was just pulled along.
Then, the pyramid unfolded, and Abriana gasped at what she saw inside.
