Seen as:
Is called: "Dream."
Appears to be: "Human."
Age: "Time is a fallacy reified by the human race."
Short-Bio: A powerful sorcerer and king of Dream World. He exists to protect the sanctity of your dreams from his psychotic sister, Nightmare. He embodies the brighter-side of imagination and nostalgia yet holds both the Tome of Imagination and Death. They say this is to show the fragility between the Realm of Nightmares and Dream World.
Interesting bits: - He's the only sibling to emphasize his regality, this is likely a reference to how seriously he takes his job as compared to the other two.
- He's heterochromatic, like his sister, and wears a monocle to cover his red eye. This again reinforces the fine line between Dream and Nightmare.
- Dream World is actually quite desolate, the only time it is lively is when someone visits. Here we see the dismal side; possible nostalgic reminiscence mere shadows in the distance.
Seen as:
Is called: "Your Majesty, Nightmare."
Appears to be: "Inhumane."
Age: "Quite unbecoming to ask a lady, wouldn't you say?"
Short-Bio: A powerful sorceress and empress of the Realm of Nightmares. She exists solely to corrupt your dreaming mind with fears, worry and doubt, dragging you into her realm where she has total control. She doesn't abandon fantasy as she holds the Tome of Imagination, but does forfeit the Tome of Death as her realm already appears to embody certain demise. She deludes herself with visions of roses and beauty as she torments her victims.
Interesting bits: - She is heterochromatic, she covers her blue eye (representing the lighter side of imagination) with a monocle.
- She carries a satchel that is said to stow away the fear of all mortals, she then uses them at her leisure.
- She wears a shattered white crown, possibly showing her abandonment of all that is bright and good. The broken crown exists as a pathway to pleasant dreams as well.
Seen as:
Is called: "Mister Reverie."
Appears to be: "... A phantom?"
Age: "...The youngest of 3."
Short-Bio: If you're ever caught in a daydream, chances are this guy is to blame. He is the youngest and the least experienced of the royal siblings. This also applies to his magical ability, which is strong, but not on par with the other two. He carries the Tome of Light which contrasts his morbid appearance. This shows his ability to balance pleasant and frightful daydreams. He has a deep understanding of the world, though his aloof nature would prove otherwise.
Interesting Bits: - He is different from the other two in that he has no eyes what-so-ever, possibly showing his indifference to light or dark. He's also the only one who carries a wand, which makes up for the difference in ability from his other siblings.
- He exists in the World Between. This may be between Dream and Nightmare, or Dream and Reality, no one knows for sure. In the background we see a winding pathway that's blocked by fog, this may represent the capable yet fleeting qualities of daydreams.
- His grim appearance is only flanked by an almost translucent crown and the Tome of Light, which neither of the other two appears to have. It may be that the embodiment of light is somehow found in their ability to imagine, which Reverie seems to lack. This lack of imagination (for extreme insight of the world) might explain the power difference between his siblings and himself, and also the power of imagination versus knowledge in general.
Shorter Storied Characters
Name: Kaiser
Race: Human
Age: 16
Bio: Left to fend for himself in the desert at a young age, this child quickly adapted to his shifty environment. He lives to find more 'lost children' that have been abandoned in this desert, and create a haven (a safe zone, if you will) for passer-bys and a home for the lost ones (all whilst fighting off hoards of dangerous monsters that he encounters). He wields a crescent-shaped blade imbued (by a wise dragon) with various sutras that allow him to withstand the various changing conditions of the desert and use the sand to his advantage.
