CHAPTER 1
Toko Stalks through the forest silently, hunting with his nails extended to about 3 inches, like claws. A stick cracks and he crouches low. It had been nearly a week since he had after Kagome through the well, and he had only now gotten used to his new abilities enough to cach anything to eat. He heard another stick crack and pounced like a lion towards the sound.
Inuyasha, seeing the strange demon pounce, grabs for his sword, but is to late. The cat demon is already on top of him, and Inuyasha is tackled to the ground. He and the black-haired cat demon tumble down a small hill, wrestling all the while.
"Inuyasha!!" Kagome yells.
"No, Kagome, stay back!!!" Inuyasha hollars as he finally manages to pin the demon to the ground.
"Inuyasha! In his thigh!! There's a Jewel Shard!!!" Kagome calls from atop the hill.
"K-Kagome? KAGOME-SANCHAN!!" Toko shouts her old nickname urgently as Inuyasha jumps off of him, drawing his sword for a Windscar.
"Inuyasha!! STOP!!!" Kagome screamed, going down the hill.
"Wait! Kagome, what's wrong?" Songo calls out, following her with the others.
"Toko! Toko, is that you?" Kagome calls out to her schoolmate who had been missing for the past week or so.
Toko leaped up and cluched Kagome in a bear hug, then spoke, "Kagome! I'm so glad you're okay! I was worried when you jumpped into the well, so I followed you. But then I was surrounded by light and, next thing I knew, I had retractable claws and ears and a tail!" he explained hurriedly, then his stumach growled. He backed off holding his stumach, eyes closed with an embarrassed smile on his face.
"Guess I'm hungery, huh?"
Kagaome smiled and giggled, causing Toko to smile and blush.
"It's okay, Toko! I have plenty of food!" she said with a smile.
"K-Kagome! You know this cat demon!?!" it was Inuyasha who spoke.
"Yah, he's from my time!" Kagome said happily.
"Well, that would explain why he's in dog territory, then." Miroku put in.
"But....I wonder how he got through the well." Sango said.
"Yah, I was just wondering the same thing....Toko?" Kagome looked at Toko.
Toko was not paying attention, he was buisying himself with chasing a butterfly. Kagome sighed.
"Oh well, I'm just glad to have someone from my own time with us for a change." Kagome measured.
"But Kagome, what about the Jewel Shar-" Inuyasha was cut off.
Koff, Hack, Spit, Gag!
"I-I think I just ate a bug!!" Toko exclaimed in shock and horror.
"HEY!" Inuyasha shouted, getting in Toko's face, "Don't interrupt me you filthy cat!!"
"Well soooooory princess." Toko muttered.
"WHAT WAS THAT!?!" Inuyasha yells, cracking his knuckles for a fight.
"Inuyasha, sit!" Kagome cammanded.
Caim, Crash.
"WHENCH!!!" Inuyasha yelled.
"Sit boy. heart " Kagome teased.
Caim, Crunch.
"GAH! pain....." Inuyasha muttered.
"What was that?" Toko asked curiously.
"Oh! You don't know yet, do you? Here, I'll explain." Kagome said, then went on to explain all about Naraku and the Shikone Jewel of which, Inuyasha felt obliged to put in, Kagome broke.
"Oh! I get it now! I'm dreaming! This is all a very bad dream, and any minute now, I'll wake up to find myself asleep in History class! Again. Yeah. History class. Aaany minute now. Ee-yepahhh. History class. Why am I not waking up? SOMEONE TELL ME WHY I'M NOT WAKING UP!!!!!" Toko began to panick, screaming and running back and forth, aimlessly waving his arms in the air, so Kagome takes action.
SMACK!!
"Ow....uh, heh......I'm not dreaming, am I?" Toko asked Kagome, his eyes pleading.
"I'm afraid not, Toko. Sorry I had to hit you But-" Kagome said, concerned.
"No, it's okay, I nedded it!." Toko replied.
"All right. But still, it should be easy to get you home, so don't worry, 'kay?" Kagome reassured, "But first, you should eat something!" she finished with a smile.
"But Kagome-" Inuyasha began to protest.
"Sit." she said simply.
Caim, Crash. Toko just smiled and shook his head at Inuyasha.
