Cinderella: Federal Japan Style

Chapter one
Her life


“Wake up you stupid whore! And get me my breakfast right now!” Someone hollered scratchy from inside the shrine.

In a shed, on a small mat with only thin sheets, was a girl. She’s only seventeen, turning eighteen in a month. She groans under the covers yet the sun that is shining through the door blinded her when she opened her eyes. She got up, causing the sheets to fall off her chest. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. Her eyes were honey brown and are the most innocent eyes you’ll ever see. Her chestnut colored hair flows over her shoulders. “Be right there!” she yelled as she went into a worn out drawer that was in the corner of the shed and took out an old kimono. It was orange and white checkered and has a green slash around the waist. She tied some of her hair into a small ponytail on the side of her head. She walked outside slowly; sleep was still in her.

“The day isn’t young! Hurry up right now!” the person, yelled again.

“Okay,” she yelled softly. She walked down the creepy hallway then came into a room that was naturally beautiful with earthy colors. This was hers and her mother’s old shrine before she met him. Her mother designed this home by her self, with the help her her. When I say ‘her’, I mean Rin Takara. Her mother died when she was twelve from some unknown reason and she never met her dad before. It was the saddest day of Rin’s life when her mother died and she doesn’t even know how to survive if it wasn’t for her mother’s dying words.

Flashback:

Little Rin was crying on her mother’s side, she was weak and could give out soon. “Please mama! Please don’t leave me!” cried Rin. Her faced was covered in her arms, crying her eyes out. She stopped when she felt her mom gentle cold hand on her arm. Rin looked at her mother’s caring face with her teary eyes.

“Hush my Angel. Please don’t shed your tears. It’s my time to go soon and I can’t change that,” Her mother’s soft words came from her beautiful face. Rin started crying again but her mother lifted her cheek with her hand. “I want you to do something for me,” Rin’s mom gave her a weak smile. “Always stay happy no matter what. Every one has a happy ending and so do you. You just need to look for it,” she coughed but still kept her smile. “My happy ending is that I got you. That is all I ever wanted. Please promise me that you grow up to be a healthy woman and have good life… Here…” she paused as she weakly taking off the necklace around her neck. Her voice is quieting down and weak. “Take this locket and keep it close to your heart. If you really needed me… just keep this locket close… Remember Rin… Anything can happen in this world…” she coughed once more. “Promise me you’ll live to be happy. I love you… Rin…”

Rin smiled a sad smile. Although it’s a sad one, it still brightens the room. “I will mama. I promised!” Her mother eyes closed and her smile faded as her arm lost its strength and fell down lifeless on Rin’s arm. “Mama?” Rin called. She didn’t have an answer. “Mama!” she tried again but louder but still no response. “No mama! Don’t go! Mama I love you too! Stay with me! Don’t go!” Rin cried and fell on her mom’s chest, crying all the tears that are coming out.

End of Flashback

“I will keep my promise mama. But I Just can’t get out of here.” Rin whispered sadly. She took out a shiny thing out of inside her kimono. It was a golden locket with an orange heart in the middle. Inside was a picture of her mother, holding a baby Rin. Rin’s stepfamily don’t know about the locket because Rin was afraid that once they see it, they’ll take and never give it back. She quickly put it back, afraid someone would see her holding it.

Right now, Rin is in a room, sitting in front of a fire, stirring the food that is inside the pot. She was in dazed when someone walked behind her.

“Rin you worthless wench! Stop daydreaming and get back of making my breakfast!” a girl with blood red eyes said. Her hair was in a bun and had a feather clip.

“Okay Kagura-Sama…” Rin said softly. Kagura just smirked down at the petite women in front of her. She would have to do everything she said since if she didn’t, they’ll kick her out of the shrine and she’ll have no where to go. She then walked out of the room and into her huge bedroom where she do worthless stuff. With a sigh, Rin finished the hot food and poured it into four separate bowls that are on trays. It also had some fresh water that was from the stream and some fruit and some clothing for napkins. She took the tray to Kagura’s room first since she is so impatient to wait for her food. She knocked first then walked in. Kagura was playing with her hair, which was now her hair on top of her head and was messy going in front of her face. Rin was keeping in the giggles of how funny she looked. She set the tray down on the table in her room.

“About time wench! Now get out of my site before I lose my appetite,” Kagura sneered. Rin bowed then left the room quickly. Rin wasn’t ugly… She was beautiful. She was the most beautiful of her sisters and one of a few in town. Kagura grew jealous of her looks so that is why she treats her like crap.

Rin went to get another tray of food and brought it to the room besides Kagura. She knocked first then slid the door open then closes it behind her. A girl who also has black hair but got a clear-cut haircut that stops at the bottom of her ears. She also has blood red eyes and had a skull pin in her hair. Right now, she was combing some hair from a red skull with her skull comb. Rin always wondered where she got that skull and why there are still hairs attached. When she heard the petite young women came in, she quickly turned around and glared.

“Why the hell are you in my ******** room you piece of crap!” she sneered. She then saw her breakfast in her hands. “Put that thing you call food on the table quickly before it would spoil if it’s near you long.”

“Yes Yura-Sama.” Rin replied, quickly set the tray down and walked fast out the door but before she bows first. Yura is also jealous of Rin’s beauty and she just hates her guts.

The next stop is her other stepsister’s room. When she walked in, a girl who is fairly pale, has silver hair that had a white flower in it, and pitch black eyes. She was looking out the window with her mirror in her hands. She turned when there was a knock on the door and then Rin came.

“Hey Kanna-Chan.” Rin said friendly, her food tray in her hands. Kanna looked at her and nodded.

“Hi Rin-Chan.” Kanna said quietly. That is how she is, she is always quiet but she only speaks to Rin, Kagura, Yura, and her father. Kanna, out of her family, is nice to Rin. If it weren’t for her, Rin spirit would’ve been broken after a few weeks after her mother’s death. She doesn’t talk much but they understand each other and have a bond that nobody can break. “The… usual?” Kanna asked softly.

Rin nodded, placing a smile on her face. “Yup. What do you expect? I’ll never get a break…” Rin walked towards the door and stood there for a second. “Well Kanna-Chan, I need to get this tray of food to Naraku-Sama before its gets cold.” Rin then left the room and made her way to the study. She knocked first then listen for a response.

“Come in,” This low voice said inside the room. Rin opened the door and walked into the fairly dark room. ‘How can he read in this kind of light?’ Rin always wanted to ask but never said anything about it.

“Good morning Naraku-Sama, here is your breakfast,” Rin said politely and set the tray on an open table. All she wanted to do throw that hot food in his face and say ‘******** you’ but she couldn’t. She would be in deep, deep, DEEP trouble if she did that.

Naraku was long wavy black hair and has dangerous blood red eyes. He looked at her which, some times freak her out and what creeps her out is that she could see lust in his eyes when he stares at her. “Go to the market then do your chores.” Was all he said. He could of said a ‘thank you’ or something but no. All he said is do more chores. Rin bowed then left the room. That room creeps her out every time she goes in there. That is why it is perfect for him. The study never looked like that before he came. The room used be bright and full of life and now it’s dark and looks like some place to put a funeral.

Rin was happy enough to ran out of that shrine. It may have her mom’s memories but now that is got taken over but those peoples, it isn’t the same. Rin was walking down a forest path. She had a basket in her arms and a smile upon her face.

XxXxX Rin’s POV xXxXx

This is my finest hour. This time of day and week is me time. No one screeching my name to do something stupid likes cleaning toenails. I shook of the thought. Why would Kagura want me wash one measly toenail then clean the dirt of it? I think she just wanted me to smell that disgusting odor from her feet. Well, enough with the disgusting thought.

Why I like going to village is because that is wear my real family lives. No, we are not blood related but best friends. When I’m with them, I feel like someone actually cares for me. I feel welcomed. I walked through a meadow where I stopped every time I go shopping, just to relax. It is in front of a mountain and lake, which make a perfect view. I’ll stop by there later, after shopping.

Finally, I see the village. Out peaceful little village. I only come here once a week but every time I come, it felt like forever since I left. I started running towards the village. When I got there, something confused me. All the villagers are cleaning up their homes and shops. I wonder what’s going on. When I was walking toward this couple that was cleaning up to ask what’s going on, I hear someone calling me.

“Rin-Chan!”

When I turned around, I was tackled to the ground. I heard laughing and when I saw what hit me, I saw Shippo. My best friend every time I go to the village with my mom or anyone else. Well anyways, Shippo had reddish hair with emerald green eyes. He is also seventeen too and he had been friends with me since I was eight. “Shippo-Kun!” I examined. We always tackle each other when we meet. I dunno why but probably because we always do that when we are younger. We smiled and Shippo helped me up. I dusted my kimono off then turn to him. “Hey Shippo-Kun! Umm… what’s going on?” I asked, pointing at the villagers behind me.

Shippo put a thinking face on, sticking out his tongue and tapping his chin. “Uhh… Oh! Well I’m not into gossip but I heard the princes is coming to check this area.” Shippo said with a grin. We started walking towards the market. “Peoples are going crazy making the place look perfect. It’s kinda funny how people get just to impress the princes. Even though, one is cold hearted and the other is rude. I just wonder what the oldest son would be like when he becomes lord and control us with his coldness.” I had to laugh at that. I never seen or met the prince before but I heard a lot that he is emotionless and could care less of people around him.

Shippo helped me shop and now I have a lot of time to visit peoples but I don’t think they have time for me. I wonder if Kagome is free. “Do you know where Kagome-Chan is?” I asked Shippo. He was about to answer but then I heard a faint yell.

“Rin-Chan! Shippo-Kun!”

“Umm… my best guess is right behind you.” Shippo answered. When I turned around, Yup! There is Kagome. Oh! Sango is with her! I smiled when I see their forms coming towards us. Kagome has raven hair and blueish gray eyes and Sango had long brown hair that is tied up in a high ponytail and had brown eyes. They are both in kimonos, Kagome’s is green and Sango’s is pink. I consider them my older sisters. Even though when they are just a few months older then me. My stepfamily doesn’t even know about my friends here and if they’ll found out, they’ll ban me forever seeing them again. That’s is why I kept them a secret.

“Hey Kagome-Chan! Hey Sango-Chan!” I said cheerfully. They both gave me hugs and when they tried to give Shippo one, he quickly stepped back, waving his hands in front of him, and saying no, no, no! Repeatedly and started muttering a ‘too girly for me’. We all laughed. We started walking around the village together and chatting of what my wicked stepfamily have been treating me but then all the sudden Kagome brought up,

“You heard Inuyasha-Sama is coming to the village!” My eyes widened.

“Oh no Kagome! You’re one of them?!” I said, pointing a finger at her.

“Rin it’s rude to point and no… I just think Inuyasha is cute. That’s all!” Kagome protest but I knew she would scream when she would see Inuyasha in the flesh. I know she is one of his fan girls. Although I have no ideal of how these princes look like, I know they must be gorgeous if they have a fan club.

“What ever… Sango! Don’t you have the hots for that Miroku guy?” I asked. Sango is always talking about that prince Inuyasha assistant. Well he is assistant and best friend of what I heard. I don’t know how he looks like either. Wow. I need to get out of that shrine more. Sango blushed and looked in the other direction.

“No! No, I just umm… admire his work. Yeah! I admire his work and patience with Inuyasha.” Sango said. I knew she was lying. Just like Kagome, if she will see Miroku, she’ll probably scream her head off.

“Sure… Well Shippo! How is Souten?” I asked. Souten is Shippo’s crush since forever and he been hanging around with her when I’m not in the village. He said he would tell her how he feels soon but I don’t believe him. When it comes with girls, Shippo isn’t that good with it. Well, with the girls, and me are like sisters and brother.

“Going great. She invited me to go with her to the spring on the mountain tonight.” Shippo said simply, kicking a stone that is in front of him.

“Oh! Shippo-Kun has a date!” Kagome cheered. Soon Sango and I joined her by chanting it repeatedly. Shippo had a blush on his face and was backing away.

“Do you really have to call it that? I mean, we are just going to hang out by the spring for a while.” Shippo defended himself.

“Oh really Shippo… just you… and Souten… alone… at the spring where it is romantic…” Sango said with a sly smile upon her face.

“Oh! This is the perfect place for you to tell her how you feel! Look! I’m only here once a week and I know that Souten has the hots for you. I bet she feel the same way!” I said, looking at Shippo every move. I knew Shippo is chicken to do this but I do know Souten likes Shippo-Kun too. They just need to tell each other’s feeling.

“Oh no I won’t. I will tell her how I feel… but not tonight.” Shippo argued.

“Shippo… You always talk about telling her your feelings but when you get the chance… you back out. If I have to sneak out of that shrine, just to drag you to the spring… I will!” I said with a serous tone. Kagome and Sango nodded with agreement.

“B-b-but I-I umm… can’t I-I-” Shippo started to stutter. He always does that when we back up on him and work together to do something for us or for himself. When he saw our faces, he sighed. “Okay fine…” he picked up his hand held it up. “I promised I’ll tell her how I feel. Okay!” He sighed. He is really annoyed by getting ganged up by girls.

“Thanks! Well anyways! I have to go now so, tell me how the day goes when the princes come here today okay Sango and Kagome. And Shippo! Spill all the details next week,” I said, holding my basket close to me. I turned around, waving. “Bye guys!” I yelled then started running to other direction, the way where the shrine is.

I found myself skipping down the forest path when I came by the meadow again. It is a beautiful meadow with all the flowers there, dancing with the wind. The petals from the flowers are flying away when a gust of wind came by. I wish I could fly away from here. I did say I was going to hang here for a while didn’t I? Well okay! Only for a while. I grinned and started running towards the flowers.

I jumped in the flowers and laughing while doing it. I watched the petals float in the air and then came down slowly. I act like a child for my age but I don’t care. When I act like a child, I feel happy like nothing could stop me for being myself. I hummed a tone that my mother used to sing to me. I started singing the chorus.

“When everything feels like crashing down

Just smile and turn around

Like the sun going the other way

You’ll regret it when if just stay

This is how my mother is. She would say this to me when I’m feeling down. If something bad happens and it would upset me, just ignore it because that is what it wanted you to do is to upset you. My mother give me all kinds of advises. She always wanted me to be happy. I’ll fulfill her wishes and I will be happy. “Just wish mom was here to see me,” I thought sadly.

XxXxX End of POV xXxXx

Rin stood up and twirl herself around, singing the memories of her mother. Birds came flying down from the sky and trees to the flowers to sing a little tune with her. For some unknown reason, woodland animals always came to Rin to be company or even when they are hurt, Rin would help them till they’ll be better. These woodland creatures are friends with Rin also. They even play with her when she was only a little baby. The rabbits and mice came out of their hiding places and came to watch the childish teenager. Rin’s voice would always bring out the animals when she sings.

Rin kept twirling till she was so dizzy and fell to the ground. Her laughter filled the air and her smile brightens the meadow. Suddenly, the birds flew away quickly and the rabbits and mice scattered away. Rin didn’t notice this till she felt a presence behind her. The hair on the nape of her neck rose and shivers went up and down her spine. When Rin turned around to see who is behind her. She gasped.

Me: Hi! ((Waves rapidly)) I’m done my first chappie! Wootness! Sorry for the crapiness but next chapter would be better… I swear! I just randomly put words in Rin’s mother song so don’t sue me. And I personally think the flashback was sad… well for me that is.

Rin: why do I have to sleep in a shed?

Me: Because Naraku, Kagura, and Yura is cruel…

Kagura: I am not!

Me: Do I remember that quote “Now get out of my site before I lose my appetite”?

Kagura: Well I oh I could explain…I-

Shippo: Look I’m talking in the author note!

Rin: ((Sweat drop)) eh… good for you Shippo-Kun…
