So allow me to just let go of my mixed up feelings before I resume watching Boys Before Flowers' 23rd episode.
Jun Pyo's mom doesn't exactly have a likeable character, but even with all her evildoings and stuff, I've never really hated her.
..not until now that is.
I don't friggin' care if she hires some muscled dude to kidnap Geum Jan Di, or if she makes Jan Di drink a chemical mixture or something to make her puke the dear life out of herself, or if she locks up Jun Pyo and Jae Kyung in a cell with like 99999 locks(half of it with security codes and the other half the typical oversized padlock) for who-knows-how-long, or if she demolishes Jan Di's and each one of her commoner friends' house (sohrez Ga Eul), actually, I wouldn't mind if she did anything she pleases..
..anything but putting Ga Eul's parents in trouble so as much to make Ga Eul's mom call Ga Eul at the one friggin' moment SoEul fans are gripping onto the edge of our seats making sure we don't fall off, at that one scene where Yi Jung was just about to make out with kiss our dear Ga Eul.
WAAAIII KKOTBODA NAMJA WAAAAIII
Let's sadface in togetherness SoEulmates sad (((((((((
I'm hoping something SoEul-ly better happens sooner or later, else you'll find a murdered black-and-silver laptop on your headlines next Sunday. Thank you very much.
NEXT.
I'm more mortified disappointed with that SoEul thing than this other one I'm about to mention, but please bare with me anyways. Okay that didn't make sense.
..so please don't expect me to make any sense right now because I'm like darting my eyes around with some mortifying Mozart piece playing at the background. Mission Impossible would do fine, too. No, wait, my point is that, don't expect me to make any sense right now because I'm still in a state of negative flabbergastification. I absolutely have no idea if there is such a word, but my brain can't seem to cough up anything else that's at least half qualified of describing how sad and mortified(I've been using this word for like the third time now.) and frustrated and hyped up and horrified I feel all at the same time.
So anyways, I was just about to narrate my extreme grief and distress with the "Goodbye, Geum Jan Di's honorable firefighter" scene at the otherwise gorgeous Banpo bridge.
Ever since 0:01 of episode 1, I have been rooting for Ji Hoo to end up with Jan Di, fully aware that it's like 110% impossible since BBF is supposed to be all about Jun Pyo and Jan Di's love story. Moreover, I don't think buying the rights to having a remake of a really popular manga/show includes the right to change who the female protagonist ends up with or what the entire story is all about.
Ji Hoo, for the second time around, attempts to indirectly confess to Jan Di, only to be interrupted by the wonderful fountain entourage that I would have cursed at if it wasn't so gorgeous. Jan Di says something in her mind which we can hear (ZOMG WE HAS SUPERPOWERS), and ends it with "Goodbye, Geum Jan Di's honorable firefighter." I'm not going to elaborate further as to why she said goodbye since I've already wasted 2 whole paragraphs of ranting against Jun Pyo's mother, and this "goodbye" thing is mostly her fault, too.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for farm-like relaxing-but-sad music (which was playing at the Banpo bridge scene), but that line was just so heartbreaking it made me want to fly to Korea to strangle the scriptwriters and make them change that line into something in the lines of "ILY U HAS ME <3 ! JUN PYO BAI BAI!"
..can anyone tell me what instrumental that was, by the way? Thanks smile
Oops. I just put a smiley on a rant post.
Ends here, by the way.
