I wrote this poem last Christmas and I'd like your feedback.

It’s time for the season of giving,
And the time of learning,
And the time to pass stories down.
Generation after generation.
To teach the young about a tradition,
To teach the elder’s that everything matters.
These times help all.
Young or old.
Angel or convict.
Teach them all what everything means.
To let them know that there is always one person that cares about them.
One person to pick them up when they crash and burn.
To mend their broken heart.
To break their fall.
Let them know they’re not alone
Always one person to stand up for them.
Always one.
These times bring out those people.
To bring out the caring side of them.
A part most don’t even realize they have.
A side they had hidden so long ago.
These times seem to only last around this holiday.
But they need to know it lasts all year.
That the one person that cares is there all year.
To teach this, we must pass on stories.
Stories of our pasts and our children’s possible futures in this messed up world.
Pass down the truth about a person.
And be that one person that cares.
That will pick them up when they crash and burn.
To break their fall.
And let them know they’re not alone.
