I wandered through the misty forest. Everything was a vivid green, like after a storm when everything springs to life. The bubbling of a stream could be heard in the distance. I walked down the meandering path, delving deeper and deeper into the woods. It was quiet here... too quiet. Usually birds twitter to each other and hares dart accross the path, but not in this forrest. No, here all was quiet and still. It was empty and lifeless. The only movement was the occasional rustling of the bamboo and gooseberry leaves as the gentle wind b, I sensed something here, something that I needed to find. With that urge I began to run, a sick feeling building in my stomach, like I didn't have much time. Stumbling a bit, I reached the edge of a clearing. As I stepped into the open space, the scene abruptly shifted. I was still standing in the same forrest, the same clearing. Yet it was different. No longer was this place green nor was it lifeless. The air was tinged with red and a fire had blazed against the bamboo and gooseberry. The plants crackled as the dancing flames licked at the, choking the life from them. The berries were scattered on the ground, crushed and bleeding. The battle cry of a thousand men echoed around the hollow space and resounded in my ears. I turned my head and something flashed in the center of the clearing. Cautiously I stepped forward, the burned leaves crunching under my feat. As I neared, I saw two people laying there, a pool of blood around their bodies. Both appeared to be of noble descent, though I could not be sure. Blood smeared accross their faces. I could be sure of two things though, one was a boy and the other a girl. The boy had honey blonde hair, though now stained with his blood in places, and the girl had raven black hair. I found the source of the flash. A brooch was around her neck. I knelt to look at it closer then froze. What am I doing?! I thought I should be fleeing from here as fast as I can! still I could not will myself to run. I felt connected to these people, though I knew not who they were. I reached over the girl to take hold of the brooch. Her eyes suddenly flew open and she grabbed my wrist. She stood dragging me with her. My wrist was slowly numbing to the freezing coldness of her skin. She released me and I fell to the ground. As I did she released a blood-curling scream. The fire around us sprang to life with a new vigor! The flames danced around me, burning my body. I coughed on the smoke that had engulfed us. She stood in front of me, towering above, and pointed a white finger at me. She creamed my name. . . .
