This is my whole thought on flay and lacus with the relationships with Kira,Its long but its what I say to the whole thing.Read it,it took
forever to write. lol ^^
It gets on my nerves when people hold her up on a pedastal, her and the relationship she has with Kira. What relationship? They kissed like one? Twice? They don't even show any affection for one another and people think they have the perfect relationship? The only reason why I believe Lacus dumped Athrun for Kira was because she saw how vulnerable Kira was during the war and wanted to enforce her kindness on someone. Obviously, she couldn't do that with Athrun because he kept throwing her kindness back into her face.
And to be honest, I will say that I didn't think that Athrun deserved Lacus, but that still doesn't mean that she's right with Kira. You're absolutely right, they are just too boring together. Boring. And someone had the nerve to say to me one time that just because nothing bad happened in Kira and Lacus's relationship doesn't mean it's not a good one. I think there's something wrong with a relationship if nothing goes wrong...no one's relationship is that perfect. Not to mention that relationships are built on faults because that's how they improve and how the couple gets to know one another.
And yes, she's way too girlish for me. That's why a ton of people prefer Cagalli to Lacus. Cagalli is more down to earth and actually does something in the show other than sit around and look pretty while singing and giving speeches about peace. Does Lacus even have a clue what she's talking about? She doesn't even fight in war, but Cagalli does and everyone's busy telling Cagalli that she doesn't understand anything about war.

I know a few people that don't really like Flay, but think the same way. I just think that most people when they say that they hate Flay are just being ignorant because they like Kira and would hate anybody that would do him wrong. Just like how every one hates every girl that comes in contact with Athrun because they feel that Cagalli is the one he should be with. I just think that's ignorant thinking. You have to actually have a reason for why you hate someone, not just because you don't like them because you don't think they should be with what's his name because he should be with someone else or whatever.
I won't lie. I love the KiraxFlay relationship and if you mention anything about Kira being with anyone else, I won't like it. But I won't go into hating mode for it. I will actually supply reasons for why I think the relationship is wrong. That's why I said I don't hate Flay, only her actions. Because it's the reason behind why it might provoke you to not like her or what she did. Not simply because she used Kira at his weakest moment, so therefore, she is wrong and wicked and should die. I'm telling you, ignorant people.
I mean, it's like everyone forgot that she saw her father died before her eyes. Everyone forgot how naive she was, so she didn't understand anything about warfare. She only did what she knew. And eventually, she actually admitted to have fallen in love with Kira and even felt sorry for what she did not only to him but to everyone else. She repented. And yet, all people can see is how she used him during their time of vulnerability.

Kira and Flay made a more interesting couple to watch. I mean their love was for real. They suffer and still had feelings for one another. Kira may have been gullible, but he knew what she did to him and still he loved her.

Lacus coach him through his pain and suffering. And look where that got him. He became mute.And at anytime where you spend two years on some remote island together, you mean to tell me that the most you do is just hold hands or hug? That's not a real relationship. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that...but you're like newlyweds. Newlyweds act more intimate than that. They acted like an old married couple. Even Athrun and Cagalli acted more intimate than they did and their relationship was all screwed up.

My theory is that they are both so alone in the world that they depend on each other's presence. Although, Kira and Flay's relationship was somewhat like that too, but that relationship had some meaning to it. It was like a soap opera, and I don't like soap operas. Cagalli and Athrun are alone in the world as well, but they don't depend on each other's presence though. And it's obvious that Cagalli didn't depend on Athrun's presence. She was too caught up in her political duties. Now Athrun might have depended on her presence, but I think he was more worried about his own state of being to care. And yet, they still loved each other...in a screwed up way...but there was still something. Now if the creators would just make it right this time.
