I looked up at the teacher and she was at her desk and she was writing something. I got finished last because I was working on my character, but oddly - so did Billy, it was weird. Me and Billy left the classroom, and on our way to our lockers he said " Hey, why did you finish last too? " " Oh, I was working on my character again. What were you doing? " " Nothing... well, you'll find out... soon. Hey what's next? " " Lunch and break. " " Break? " " Yeah, we get 10 minutes of time to do whatever, before we go to class after lunch. " " Oh, cool. " " Yeah, normally I get finished after 10 minutes after lunch time. Tehe. " " Cool, so you have like -pauses to count aloud; softly- 45 minutes of time which is only 15 minutes off of normal lunch period. " " Yea, so do you want to come with me in my 'vette? " " Whoa, wait a second, you have a ' vette? And what do u mean 'come with' ? " " I mean go get lunch, and it's used. But my dad loaned me money to fix it up, so it should look pretty awsome. I guess. " " Sweet! " I laughed. " Okay, whatever you say. When my friend down at the shop fixed it up, I was at school and he brought it to me - after school of course. I said kinda loudly, ' Sick!!! ' " He laughed. " Well it was! Come on let's go. " " Okay. " We were heading towards the door when Alli steped in front of us. " Move Alli! " " I see you got a new boyfriend. " "Shut-up and move aside before I knock you out like last time." She moved away pretty fast after I said that. Billy laughed. " Was that funny? " " Yea that was hysterical. " I laughed too. When we got outside he said " Hey, I brought my CD's. Can we listen to one of them? " " Yeah, why not. Whatcha' got? " " Um, I have The new 'Drama Queen' CD from the new band from Bodog Battle of the Bands thing. " " Awsome. I like that one song. " " That one song? " " Yea, that one song. " I snapped retardedly. " Why did you snap like that? " " I don't know, no, I don't. Can we go to the car now? " " Yes. " When we got there he almost died. ' Dude this is sick!! " " See, I told you! Now let's go. " I unlocked the car and got in. Good, no traffic. I turned into the Mc Donald's drive through, he said " I want a number one. " " Okay me too. What drink - Dr. Pepper? " " Yea. My fav! " he snapped. " Oh I see how it is, you can snap but I can't. " We laughed. " May I help you? " " Uh, yes I would like two number one's both with Dr.Pepper. " " Okay, $10.86." " I'll pay. " he started to get his wallet out " No I got it. " " It's okay I got. " " Okay. " We went the rest of the way through the line and we were on our way to school when the song ' In the Air Tonight ' came on the radio and I said " Wait, before I listen to your CD I want to listen to this song I love it! It's by Phil Collins. It's called ' In the Air Tonight ' . It's about this drug dealer he saw murder a man and he threw him over board. And he was scared to tell anyone what he saw and he waited years till he was famous to tell anyone about it and then he wrote this song " " That's awsome... ish. " " Ish? " " Whatever, anyway, I want to listen to the CD now. I love Neurosonic. " I replied happily. " Okay. " He gave me the CD and that one song I like was the first one. " See, this is the song I was talking about." " Oh you mean ' that one song'. " He laughed. I playfully punched him in the arm. He laughed some more. I drove into the parking lot and said " Let's go eat now. " Still laughing, he said " Okay. " I looked him in the eyes again. They were just so pretty! He caught my gaze, rolled his eyes and sighed as he opened the car door, I laughed. We got inside and sat down at a table. He said " So what time should I pick you up? " " Hmm? " I looked up at him because I was paying attention to my food. " Time. Me. Pick. Up. You. What. " " Oh I don't know doesn't that depend on the time the movie starts? " He got his checkerd backpack out and pulled out a black laptop, it looked like a few months old. " What movie do you want to see? " " Ummm......How about The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D? " " Awsome! I was hoping you would pick that movie!...There's one that starts at 8:00, pick you up at 7:35? " " Sure, sounds great. " ' Really great!' I thought. " Hey your pretty brave to ask a girl out on your first day at a new school. " I commented. " Well I had to make sure the prettiest girl in school wasn't taken. " He replied. I looked down, and as my face grew hot, I knew I was blushing - badly. I looked up, then he started laughing hystericaly. I smiled. ' I love his laugh! It's amazing!' I thought." Why are you laughing? " " Because you're blushing. " " Ooooh....that. " He burst-out laughing some more. I smiled, he saw me and said " I love you're smile. " I smiled wider. We got finished with our food and we threw it away. " That was less than your normal time of eating, did I disrupt your To Do List? " I burst-out laughing. He smiled." No, let's go do something I'm bored. I know, wait, do you know how to skateboard? " " Ofcourse I do I have been for nine years. " " Ah well I have been for six years! Heh heh. " I started laughing then he started to laugh too. " Okay, do you have yours? " " Yeah. " " Where?! " ' What the heck?!?!?! I didn't see him with one... ' I thought. " It's in my car. " " Oh now you have a car. What is it? " " It's not a corvette, but I have a viper. " " A VIPER?!?!?!?!?! " " Yeah my grandfather died and instead of giving all the money to my " dad ", he wrote in his will to give it to me. " My eyes widened, " Are you serious?!? How much? " " A good $1,900,000. " My eyes widened more than I ever thought they could. " Can I have a laptop?!?!?!? Kidding,... " I laughed. " No, it's okay, you can have one if you want one." "YAY!" People stared as we walked by I didn't care. " Alright here it is." " OMG! Why did you flip out over my car then?! " I questioned. " Well first, how much did it cost? " he asked. " $62,000. " " Okay, and mine only cost $32,000. " " What?!?!? Wait, why? " " Well mine was given to my by my grandfathers friend, he was going to give it to me for free, but he needed money, bad. So I offered the price, he rejected it at first, but after a while of arguing, he gave in. So yeah. " " Nice! " " So, what are you going to where tonight? " he asked. " Mmmm... how about we keep that one a surprize till tonight? " " Darn you! " I laughed " Don't you laugh at me!" he frowned. I laughed so hard, I fell off the seat and landed on the floor. He burst-out laughing and accidentally fell on top of me. We both started laughing some more. Then we got up and went to his car. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his keys . He opened up the trunk and was trying to decide whether he wanted his zero board or his cryptonic board. " Woah you know how to eight wheel? " " Yeah, I learned how to three years ago. " " I hate you. " I gave him a cynical look. He started laughing. I narrowed my eyes at him. ' Grrrrrrrr. ' I thought. " Evilness, you have it. " he started laughing some more. I couldn't help but smile. " Hey why are you smiling? Did I say something funny? " " No, I just love your laugh. " " Oh," he blushed, " Thanks. " " Welcome. " " Soooo, " " So? " " Let's go! " " Okay then... " I gave him a blank and confused look. He just smiled. I smiled back. " Ugh, " I groaned. " What? " " I really don't feel like walking. " Then out-of-nowhere he picked me up and through me over his shoulder. " Ummmmm. And that was for? " " I didn't want you to do something you didn't want to do. " He smiled. He ever-so-easily carried me all the way to the court-yard. He set me down and I noticed that Alli was flirting with Darren. He ' dislikes ' her as I should say. " Stay here, I'll be right back. " I walked over to Alli and said, " Back off Alli, you know he doesn't like you. " " You're just jealous because he likes me and hates you! " As soon as she finished her sentence me and him both burst-out laughing. She got really mad and screamed, " Shut-up!!! Stop laughing at me!!! He does! He's laughing at you because you look stupid when you laugh! " At that point I fell over laughing. I was laughing so hard my side started to hurt! " Ughhh!!! " Billy ran over and said " Someone woke up on the wrong side of the mall today! " He smiled. " Shut-up you guys, your making my laugh so hard that my side hurts! " I couldn't help but to keep laughing. " Well it's not my fault she's uterly stupid and clueless. " Darren commented. " Haha, okay, okay, I think I'll be fine. " I laughed a little bit more then Billy offered his hand to me, I grabed it and pulled myself up. " Thanks. " " You look nice today Hope - kinda happy. " " Ughhh! Whatever! " Alli stomped away. " Haha, I really needed to see her suffer, it makes me happy inside. " They both stared at me like I was crazy. " I'm just kidding! Oh, by the way Billy, this is Darren. Darren this is Billy. " " Well Darren, I think your wrong. " " Huh? " We both said at the same time. " She doesn't look nice, she looks beautiful. " Darren got really mad and stormed away. " What was that about? I was just stating the facts. " I laughed. " So, let's skateboard. " " What time is it? " I looked at my skelianimal watch. " It's about 10:15, Why? " " Just making sure that we still have time to skateboard. " " Uh, okay. " Just then my friend, Kade walked up to me and said " Hey, guess what! " " Uh, What? " " I'm going to my friends house to go ride his four-wheeler. " " Ah, sweet. Oh, by the way, this is Billy. " " Hi, I'm Kade. " " Hello, so are you guys going down to the old railroad? " " Yeah, it's going to be sooo awsome. " " Best be carefull! " " I know, so Billy, are you new here? " " Yeah, I just got here this morning. " " Ah, leave it to Hope to find a cool new guy to hang out with. " Haha, yeah, I'm not that cool, Imma total nerd. " " Then you are her nerd. " " Eh? " I asked. Kade laughed. " Nothing, I gotta go, cya around. " " Bye." " He seems really nice, and a really fun cool guy. " " Haha, you don't know the half of it. Here let's go to the place I wanted to show you. " " And that would be where? " "Just follow me! "
