It seemed that that my untimely gaze into the mirror would take it's toll on me. I returned with a *THUMP* to find that voices were strewn throughout the house. I came down from the attic to find paramedics in the house, taking my mother to the hospital.
"What the hell!?" The medic looked up in surprise, then anger.
"You been here this whole time? This woman's heart stopped, according to my readings, one hour ago. That means that there's no coming back. I'm very sorry for your loss. Where were you?" I couldn't believe it. Her heart gave.....and I was knee deep in a damned mirror. I felt so stupid and infuriated with my self and my mother, who knew this would happen.
"I was in the attic, looking through some family archives. I never heard a sound. I promise. I love her with all my heart." I began to babble incoherently as I stand there, her death sinking to my very core. *SHAKE* "Son! Calm down, this won't get you anywhere. Just....Come with us. Your other family members are at the hospital waiting. Why.....Why must you leave me, mother..........................................
