Elemental Breeds - Final Draft
S’feena’s Children
These are the Aershaa that follow in S’feena’s footsteps, wishing to bring life and balance to the world and to preserve its beauty and cycle. They are trying to end the war with everyone in the ideal state of peace, but unfortunately most realize they must fight to do so.
Air
• Feather-winged
• Lean build
• Thin Fur & Maned
About
The air Aershaa are the children of the wind. They are swift of foot and of mind, strong fliers, and are known for their skydances. They are the keepers of the air tournaments, involving dance performances, sky races, and flight strength. In personality, they are typically confident, focused and driven, but can be exceedingly playful in their everyday life. The omegas are commonly marked so for their lack of focus, and are typically daydreamers.
These Aershaa will bond to dreamers, artists, musicians, dancers…
Abilities
Air Aershaa use their magics through redirecting and increasing force of the wind. Most Air use their wings for this, however the wingless are known to use their breath. Elder Air Aershaa are known for reading the passage of the wind to tell what has yet to come.
Water
• Thin furred & Maneless
• Lean
• Webbed toes
• Strong-lunged, able to hold breath underwater
• Leather wings, shorter and constructed for swimming, not flying.
• Pupil-less eyes
About
The water Aershaa are the children of the rivers and seas. They are somewhat slow on land, but tireless and fast in the water. Their wings are not made for flying, but can be used to glide good distances, commonly used to get from island to island in their home land, Listhrea. Where most Aershaa born of S’feena dedicate their rituals to her, the water Aershaa praise Listhrea through underwater lithdancing, usually done in pairs as they weave through each others patterns. This only applies to those born of the Listhrean area, however.
In personality, they are the most intelligent race of Aershaa, Their cunning and trickery are unmatched by many, and their emotions are as everchanging as the sea, giving them a wide range of personalities, but also a sense of instability. Many water types have the poor habit of losing control of their emotions and leaping before looking. The omegas are those that act rashly and foolishly.
These Aershaa will bond to teachers, writers, hunters, fishermen…
Abilities
Water Aershaa can conjure water from the moisture in the air, as well as use water from its source. They make use of its force, as well as shaping it into useful forms. Elder water Aershaa are known for water scrying, as well as water weaving – that is, creating shapes and forms with pools of water, often to tell tales.
Fire
• Thickly built
• Thick fur
• Feather-winged
• Single-bladed
• Long-toothed
About
The fire Aershaa are the children of the sun. Their fur is thick, but allows for protection from extreme heat. It’s reflective and repellent, protecting an otherwise hot-blooded species from overheating. These are the proudest of the Aershaa, and those that are strongest in their magics amongst S’feena’s children. They are the keepers of the elemental tournaments, where elemental performances anywhere from tests of strength, to elemental creative creation are performed. They are known for their ability to cast fire into shapes and command them at their will, though only for so long.
In personality, they are proud, sometimes to the point of arrogance, but also fiercely loyal. Its said there is nothing that can break a fire pack, and thus is why they grow so large. Other fires are happily confident without arrogance. Mixed packs will often find themselves with fire leaders – these Aershaa have a strong sense of direction and command. But greed can be a downfall of power – the selfish and greedy are thrown to the omega ranking of packs, and often won’t bind to a pack at all.
These Aershaa will bond to leaders of all kinds, fighters, hunters…
Abilities
Fire Aershaa obtain the ability to conjure fire from the heat in the air, as well as the energy in their souls, making them weaker, but still capable in cold seasons. Their jaws and tails are typically the channeling sources of their power, but they are also known to use their wings to create force in a blast. Elder Fire Aershaa can read already-burning fires, as well as conjure shapes in their smoke.
Light
• Transparent, light colored
• Can be heard speaking, but never move their jaws.
• Said to be spirits sent by S’feena.
• Ageless, and never seen in a young form
• Bladeless
• Occasionally found wingless, but why is unknown.
• Do not contain breeding energy, and so cannot produce offspring.
About
The light Aershaa are direct descendants of S’feena. They serve as guides, guardians, and conscience-bearers to their bonded, but never join as a pack. These Aershaa are not truly material, but can materialize, or completely dematerialize and exist in an invisible spirit form as they connect with a bonded. Because of their immateriality, they do not fight. They’re able to overshadow the humanoid they’ve attached to (with permission, of course,) and lend them the stamina and speed an Aershaa carries. Light Aershaa do not feed on the flesh of animals, but instead on the energy of the world around them.
In personality, they are soft-hearted, kind, and optimistic. Many carry wisdom, but they are rarely literal about it. The light Aershaa are known for speaking in riddles, in tongues, or for going indirectly around advice they’re giving. They are teachers in a strange manner, but they never miss their mark, even if it takes a while.
These Aershaa will bond with anyone with a good heart.
Abilities
Light Aershaa can see into the hearts of others, and their abilities lay in their wisdom to use that to confuse any who oppose them. They can manipulate emotions for positive influence, letting an enemy see from another point of view. They are also masters of illusion, creating shapes and forms through lightweaving, and can use the same ability in the rarity that they need to defend themselves or another. Elder Lights, as rare as they are, can overshadow their enemies in extreme circumstances, but most often chose not to, wheras the younger Lights may only enter the bodies and extend the strength of their bonded. More commonly, the more experienced and eldest of the light can change their form.
Phasing in and out of materialism is a natural skill, more than a magical ability.
Loyal Servants of Khan
Khan's Loyal believe that Aershaa were created by Khan, and so should follow in his will. They believe S'feena was wrong to take her power so far and create life that was not for Khan's servitude, and so live to restore the world of it's original glory - that of an Aershaa-dominated globe that forever shines under his gaze.
Stone
• Back-Maned
• Medium Fur
• Strongly Built
• Fur-lined leather wings
• Thick blades with the appearance of stone
About
The stone Aershaa are the children of the mountains. Like the mountains, these Aershaa are un-movable in both personality and build. They are the largest of the Aershaa, and are known for their tooth-and-claw tests of strength and skill. They are the keepers of the Night Matches, where Khan’s loyal fight to prove their might and loyalty. They believe the stronger you are, the more worthy you are of glory and life, and of survival of the fittest. There are no omegas in stone packs, for they kill the weak at their earliest signs, not because they’re vicious, but for the survival of their race, and to keep their good name.
In personality, they are willful, stubborn, proud creatures, not known for being talkative. Their means of life may seem a bit violent, but in truth they do not fight needlessly. Battle breaks out only when weakness needs to be eliminated. Petty feuds are resolved quickly by non-deadly matches of strength. These days, there are many stone that, though they fight for competition and lifestyle amongst eachother, find needlessness in war after meeting so many formidable opponents, though there will always be those under Khan's servitude.
These Aershaa bond with warriors, soldiers, wrestlers, but also mountaineers and the more passive of the strong…
Abilities
Stone Aershaa are manipulators of anything composed of earth. They can shift the ground, cause earthquakes, and mold the ground into desired shapes. Elder Stone Aershaa are able to lift stone and earth into the air and shape it to their desire, such as a pointed spear, and launch from that position, while the youth can only launch directly from the ground.
Ice
• Spiked manes upon their backs and heads
• Long Claws
• Thick Underfur
• Long legfur
• Medium Build
• Flightless - have large winglike spikes on their shoulders for combat.
About
The ice Aershaa are children of winter, thriving in the coldest climates and the coldest seasons of the year. They are a introverted race believing in the value of the self over others, for what is life if it cannot be lived? Ice Aershaa are fighters in an unusual way, tussling with their spikes instead of their elements or their teeth when it comes to conflict resolution. The only thing not “cold” about such a breed of Aershaa is their unusual love of art. Ice Aershaa are known for their sculptures of both ice and stone – scenes in ice depicting great battles, and enormous stone monuments depicting the likeness of Khan can be found all over Dreyrull, each and every one at the world of the blade and breath of an ice Aershaa.
In personality, ice Aershaa are a self-centered, kniving race with methods of trickery and back-handed deception. However they’re ones for barter and trade – loyalty can always be won by a good deal if the price is right. There are also apathetic ice that chose to keep to themselves, just giving those around them the cold shoulder, so to speak.
These Aershaa will bond with anyone with a cold heart and a good deal.
Abilities
Ice Aershaa hold similar ability to water, but use the moisture to freeze into solid form to be thrown at another. They will often freeze the moisture in the ground to make movement difficult or impossible for their enemies. Elder Ice Aershaa are able to freeze the moisture in another’s body to hold them in place.
Dark
• Thin, muscular build
• Pupil-less eyes
• Large batlike wings
• Long claws
• Long tailblades
• Large, jagged Teeth, often giving speech difficulty
About
The dark Aershaa are direct descendants of Khan’s son, Kriir, and hold his fierce loyalty to their lord. They oppose anyone who do not live their every moment to please and serve Khan’s will, and oppose S’feena’s ideal world. Their ideal world is as Khan intended it, and that alone. Amongst them are the “religious” leaders, who hold rallying sessions in caves and abandoned human structures around Dreyrull to honor Khan. They are the leaders, and believe themselves to be above any other of Aerkind. With this, their leadership skills are harsh, as they believe they should be to keep the world in perfect alignment. Those who are not leaders are loners, traveling the world and causing mayhem to please both themselves and Khan. Darks do not form packs of their own, but rather lead stone and ice packs. The essence of their darkness aids them in their command – a sort of hypnotic poison to the mind.
In personality, dark Aershaa are deceptive, two-faced, and have a clever, backwards way of speaking to convince anyone of anything. They have a skill in winning arguments, for they truly believe they are always right. To make up for their vicious appearance, they fake friendliness in their words and voice.
These Aershaa bond with leaders, scientists, and any human or fur weak-willed enough to be controlled.
Abilities
Dark Aershaa are masters of deception. They use mind control and illusions to confuse and manipulate their enemies into turning on one another, running in fear, or even going mad. Elder Dark Aershaa are known for trapping their enemies mind in a world of illusion for long periods of time – even days – leaving them confused and wandering in reality.
