:: Mitsuhide Kagetsu - Shinigami ::
Character's Full Name: Kagetsu Aki Mitsuhide
Gender: Male
Race: Shinigami
Age: Appears 19
Division, Rank: [ Changeable ]
Appearance: Kagetsu stands at about 5’10 in height, weighing in at 164 pounds in weight. His body is thin, but with an undeniable amount of muscle, but not bulky enough to hinder him in a fight. His complexion is tanned, but not dark. Kagetsu’s—or Tsu, as some refer to him as—eyes are green. His hair is jet black in color mostly, hanging just about an inch and a half past his jaw line and flared out slightly in the back. One strip of blonde hair frames the left side of his bangs. One distinguishing feature about him is the tattoo of the kanji ‘Higeki’ (‘Tragedy’) on his left shoulder blade.
His clothing consists of the normal Shinigami robes and his captain’s jacket. Whenever he’s in a gigai (faux body) on a trip to earth, he dresses mostly in more formal human clothing.
Personality: Kagetsu's personality can be described as usually dry and monotone, with an occasional--but not completely rare--splash of color. He's mostly serious, but he can be found playing a joking on someone or acting immature at times. After all, he only has the mind of a teenager, albeit a very mature and responsible one. He's very loyal and would rather incur harm himself than to harm his allies. He's very courageous and some would go as far as to call him fearless, but he isn't. Though, he wouldn't admit it, of course.
History: Kagetsu was killed quite some time ago in a simple traffic accident. Thankfully, before a Hollow could reach him, he was sent to Soul Society and began his life in the 34th District of Rukongai. He didn’t live there long, however, before his talent and potential to work as a Shinigami was recognized. After a few years Rukongai, he was accepted into and shipped off to the Shinigami Academy.
He was always a socially-apt child and happened to make quite a few friends in his stay at the Academy. He did well in school and learned quite a bit, very quickly. Magic had never ended up as one of Kagetsu’s strong points, though, with him ending up with only enough patience and apparent ability to pull off the occasional binding spell or two. But, by the time he had graduated, he had a reputation behind him for his skills with his zanpakutou.
Abilities: Accomplished with shunpo, though lacks a bit in hakudo.

Zanpakuto Information:
Zanpakuto Name: Osoroshii no Yume [ Terrifying Dream ]
Zanpakuto Spirit: Osoroshii no Yume materializes in the form of a teenage boy, dressed in shinigami robes. It would be easy to mistake him for a regular shinigami if not for the fact that, instead of a zanpakuto, he has a large scythe. Otherwise, his appearance is normal. Yume—as he insists that Kagetsu refer to him as—sports mid-back length black hair, bright violet eyes, and a relatively pale complexion. When he’s seen, his hair is usually held up in a ponytail of sorts.
Yume’s personality is strange. Normally, he can be upbeat and cheerful, like a regular human teenager. But, during a fight, he’s quite sadistic, a bit masochistic, and has an insatiable blood-lust. This is a good thing and a bad thing. While the bloodlust of his zanpakuto will lend Kagetsu a nice boost in strength, endurance, and determination, Yume no Osoroshii’s sadism and masochism can get Kagetsu hurt whenever the spirit feels the need to ‘spice things up a bit’.
Yume’s own unique ‘weapon’ is named Akumu (Nightmare), appears far too large and heavy for any person to lift, though the spirit can lift and swing it without even the least bit of effort. The catch? Akumu’s blade is far, far too dull to cut even a sheet of paper. The scythe would seem to be just for show, if it didn’t happen to be Yume’s—for a lack of better word—‘power source’. It’s actually not that uncommon to see Yume talking with his ‘weapon’, either.
Zanpakuto’s Sealed Appearance: In Osoroshii no Yume’s regular form, the blade takes on a simple katana design as expected, with a few minor twists. The guard is a simple diamond shape, though each point of the diamond has a different word on it, in kanji—Chikara (Strength), Yuuki (Courage), Seikakusa(Accuracy), and Nintai (Endurance). The hilt is wrapped in black fabric. On the blade of the zanpakuto is the word ‘Fear’, in English.
Shikai Release Phrase: "Kowagaraseru, Yume!" ( "Fill the enemy with fear, Yume!" )
Shikai Appearance: In Shikai form, which is released by the phrase “Kowagaraseru, Yume!” (“Fill the enemy with fear, Yume!”), Osoroshii no Yume changes from a regular katana to a double-ended naginata of sorts, though the two blades at the end are shaped more like elaborate scimitars than the simple blade of a katana. Both blades face the opposite way and the back of each blade has several holes in it, where metal rings are placed through them. On the sides of the blades are two different words in kanji. One has ‘Kyoufu’ (‘Fear’) and the other, ‘Nemuri’ (‘Sleep’). As for the pole connecting the two blades, it is black in color, made of a kind of black-lacquered wood imbued with Kagetsu’s reiatsu, making it just as tough as metal, though still not entirely unbreakable.
Shikai Powers/Abilities: Yume has two main abilities in it’s Shikai form, depending upon which blade the opponent is cut with…
Kyoufu… If cut by the blade bearing the word ‘Kyoufu’, the injured starts to have hallucinations if Kagetsu chooses to enforce the blow with a bit of his reiatsu. Of what? Well, it depends on how deep the cut is. If the wound is shallow, the hallucination would probably be something that would give the injured a brief set of cold chills. However, if the cut is deep enough, the hallucinations can materialize one of the opponent’s foremost fears. However, this technique’s weakness is a) fighting against those truly fearless, b) Kagetsu himself can be effected if his blood happens to make contact with the blade / if he uses it too much, and c) it can take up quite a bit of reiatsu to inflict this kind of attack more than a handful of times.
Nemuri… Much the same as Kyoufu, if the opponent is hit by the opposite blade when Kagetsu chooses to bump things up a notch, they are stricken with an overwhelming exhaustion, depending on the severity of the cut. This is Kagetsu’s favored technique, however, since if the opponent is first struck by Nemuri with a follow up by Kyoufu, the effect of Kyoufu is very much enhanced. But, again, the weaknesses to this is that a) if used too much or his own blood touches the blade, it will start to effect Kagetsu himself, b) some people seem to be naturally resistant to this type of attack, and c) it takes up quite a bit of reiatsu.
Bankai Appearance: In Yume’s Bankai form— Koroshi no Akumu (Life-Ending Nightmare)—Kagetsu’s Zanpakuto changes forms yet again. However, it changes to take the form of the scythe that the spirit Osoroshii no Yume wields himself. This scythe is about six inches taller than Kagetsu. The handle is the same hard, black lacquered wood as in it’s Shikai form (albeit much tougher to break). At the butt end of the handle is a crescent shaped blade facing out opposite of the main, sickle-portion of the scythe. Said main blade of the weapon is long and delicately curved, sharp enough to cut with just the smallest amount of pressure, unlike how the zanpakuto spirit’s weapon is. Whenever his Bankai is summoned, Kagetsu’s eyes change from green to violet and the his pupils turn to slits, like a cat’s eye. The kanji character ‘Shi’ (Death) appears on his forehead. His zanpakuto’s spirit materializes as well, though weaponless and honestly, quite weak without his power source. He’s mainly just there for show and a weak defense, as Akumu’s defense by itself is very weak, being a purely offense oriented weapon.
Bankai Powers/Abilities: If Kagetsu can manage to make a deep enough cut on an enemy with the smaller, crescent-shaped blade on Akumu, it displays to him the victim’s foremost fear. Once he knows this foremost fear, he can manipulate the shadows nearby to take that fear’s shape, using a large amount of his own reiatsu. Other than that, mostly all that Kagetsu’s Bankai gives him is a nice boost in strength and speed. He also has an enhancement to his stealth, as whenever Akumu is unleashed, the area within a mile radius of Kagetsu is thrown into night time, much like Tousen Kaname’s Bankai.
