Yukiko stands at a full height of 5’6, weighing in at a thin, but muscled 133lbs. Her skin is light, with just enough peach color in it so that she doesn’t completely look like a walk, soft porcelain doll. Her hair is silky and black, hanging down to her mid-back, but most usually held up in an odd style. Her eyes are dark blue in color, often filled with a look of childish curiosity.

Yukiko dawns an alternate uniform than most shinigami. This outfit is similar to the ‘short’ version of the shinigami robes worn by Nemu Kurotsuchi. However, this version of the outfit is completely sleeveless. She wears a navy blue garment similar to a pair of shorts underneath, as the slit in either side of the lower half of the uniform and the way she uses hohou when she fights would make the outfit too inappropriate to wear otherwise. Instead of the usual black, her obi is navy blue. She wears a pair of black, elbow-length gloves, as well as a pair of thin, black sandals on her feet. A simple black ribbon necklace adorns her neck. This outfit has more use than just be a.. ‘distraction’ for male opponents. It allows her much more maneuverability, seeing as she fights mainly with hohou, shunpo, and hakudo, and every bit easier it is for her to move around, the better.

Personality: Yukiko’s personality is centered around the many morals she has and her own sense of what’s right and wrong. Even so, she’s usually in a cheerful mood with a laugh that can only be described as contagious. She’s not afraid to strike up a conversation with someone if she’s in the mood for it and rather fancies the idea of expanding her group of friends. She’s loyal to all of her friends and always the first to try and cheer them up whenever she sees that they’re having an off day. However, another ‘side’ to Yukiko’s personality would be whenever someone does something she finds truly despicable. Then, her sense of justice will show her opponent just how deep her determination runs.

History: Yukiko was young when she died. Oddly enough, she died whenever she was lost in a snowstorm. She had gotten separated from the others she was traveling with and ended up stepping right into a rather deep snow bank, snapping her ankle like it was nothing. She managed to crawl to a small nearby cave and kept herself barely fed and borderline frozen until her food supplies ran out and she couldn’t get up to retrieve any firewood to keep her warm, dying as she still possessed the hope that someone would come along and find her.

For years, she remained as a spirit in the area, watching over travelers that became lost in the mountainous, frigid region. She was tormented, seeing many people die in the harsh winter while she was unable to help or protect them. In fact, she was dangerously close to transforming into a Hollow when, finally, a shinigami discovered her presence and performed the Konsou on her.

When she made it to Rukongai, she was placed in the 4th district—a very nice place for a spirit to reside. Her days there were normal and cheerful, peaceful and happy. After a while, though, they became boring. The same thing, day in and day out. Thankfully, change came about when one of the First Division shinigami scouting about the fourth district noticed her potential and asked her to consider enrolling into the Shinigami Academy. After about a week of careful consideration, she accepted the invitation gratefully.

The years she spent in the Shinigami Academy were quite easy for the young woman. She was easily in the top of her class, especially when it came down to hakudo (hand combat), hohou (foot combat), and shunpo (flash steps)—three things she was especially talented in. However, her skills with zanjutsu and Kidou spells were lacking in comparison to most of her class. When she had graduated, she was immediately accepted into the Gotei Thirteen.

Zanpakuto Information:

Zanpakuto Name: Fuyuhime [[冬風 Winter Princess]]
Zanpakuto Spirit: Fuyuhime takes the form of a woman dressed in an elaborate kimono of white, with light blue snowflakes embroidered on her kimono. Her skin is chalk white as well. Even her floor-length hair is white. The only thing about her that isn’t lightly colored are her eyes, which are a bright, vivid blue. Despite her odd dress, she appears attractive, but cold and distant. She always appears with a simple black parasol.

Even though Fuyuhime seems cold in personality, she’s actually a firm believer in her master’s ability. While she hasn’t been beaten into total subservience yet, the respect between Fuyuhime and Yukiko is strong both ways.

Yukiko’s Shikai materializes into two of these ultra sharp claws (though instead of there being just a hand grip like the picture shows, the claws actually form a miniature sort of glove around Yukiko’s hands, along with a hand grip on the underside of her palm).

Shikai Powers/Abilities: Using her Kourikobushi [ Ice Fist ] fighting style—a style she created combining hohou, shunpo, and hakudo in graceful, dance-like motions—along with her Shikai makes Yukiko a very worthy opponent. Along with an assortment of abilities gained in her Shikai, one can have quite a time keeping up with her.

Shimoyake… ‘Frostbite’. Whenever Yukiko can manage to hit her opponent, she can force part of her own reiatsu into the newly created wound to inflict frostbite and slight paralysis onto her opponent in the area that was hit. However, this is a hard technique to perform, seeing as she has to apply her own reiatsu at exactly the moment she strikes her opponent and breaks their skin until the time her weapon leaves the cut, which is often very short seeing as she often goes into a defensive pose immediately after striking, as most opponents of hers tend to have a longer strike range than her. How far the frostbite spreads and how long it lasts also depends on how deep the wound is made and how much reiatsu she can force into the wound. Timed perfectly right, however rare it is for her to do it flawlessly, this attack can render whole limbs useless.

Kourihari… ‘Ice Needles’. This technique allows Yukiko to create needles made of ice out of her own reiatsu. She can throw these from a distance and as well as being incredibly sharp, they make a small explosion upon contact with her enemy. They don’t cause much damage at all, but they serve as a nice distraction right before she rushes in to deliver a nice Shimoyake blow.
