ANNABETH'S POV

I thought about what Courage had said for a week, tops. It was an obvious thing. I should go tell Percy I like him, but would he like me? I bit my lip. For once I was stumped, tired, a little irritated, and sleepy, which would fall into the category of tired. Courage had been trying to help me out, but just like when I thought Percy was dead. I was a little crabby at breakfast, and didn't take one look at Percy since about 3 weeks ago. He doesn't talk to me much anymore, as if somebody told him I needed some space. He never stared at me, never smiled at me, and never even laughed around me anymore. It was like a wall was between us, and it was almost all Athena's fault for holding that grudge. I sighed and headed to the cabins.
By the time I was awake I heard the signal for dinner. Percy was sitting by the lake, looking depressed, Grover was trying to cheer him up with a tune on his reedpipes, Juniper was knitting, and Clarisse was talking to Juniper, probably some insult about her knitting. Then I looked closer. She had a look of frustration written on her face, and she was nodding at something Juniper had mentioned. Was she actually showing a side other than bully? I walked over, and Percy looked up from the tiny rippling waves forming on the lake's edge. "Mmm?" he mumbled. I sighed.
"I need to tell you something." He nodded and I lead him to the back of his cabin. I watched as Grover lowered his reedpipes, and Courage had somehow appeared, giving me a thumbs up. Wonder what mom would do. "Percy... Ikindalikeyou,willyougooutwithme,andwillyoubemyboyfriend??" I said real fast.
He smiled at me for the first time in a long time. "I do too, when, and okay." he counted that on his fingers. "Let's begin the countdown to DOOM!" Grover's voice echoed from the dining pavilion. "Our contestants today is Beckendorf representing Hepheastus' cabin, and Pashmina representing the Demeter cabin!!"
Clapping receded after a few seconds. I held Percy's hand and listened closely.

Percy: I thought...
Me: Me too.
