Metrocon 2008
I just got back from Tampa, Florida about 6 hours ago. There were great cosplayers, events, panels, etc. I met friends from online and a guest, Greg Cipes, the voice By far Metrocon is the best convention I have ever attended.
The reason why I traveled far for this convention was to meet my friends from a forum I used to go to called TBRS, aka The BBxRae Shrine. I also got to meet a recent friend of mine from here, Gaia. It was nice meeting you Tsuki-Sune Ku 3nodding Us TBRSers have been friends for three years so far and we finally met, we had a great time hanging at the con, being silly, even going to lunch and dinner together. It was perfect! When it was time to go eat we had to walk at least a mile to get something worth while to eat at a reasonable price... We got stared down by everyone because of our cosplays, it was hilarious xd Red Bull people made it worse... but I'll talk about them later lawlz
The Human Chess and the Avatar events were the best shows in Metrocon. This years theme for it was Light vs. Dark, and I could recognize the characters on both sides of the match. Characters included Saya from Blood +, Kenshin from Ruroni Kenshin, Ichigo from Bleach, Lust, Envy, Pride, Hughes, and Risa from FMA. The Avatar show had great fighting and just about every Avatar character imaginable. Their fire twilring skillz in Azula's Fire Show excited me and the rest of the crowd.
There was great stuff they were selling in the dealers room and artists alley. I have a wallet full of almost 200 dollars, now I'm down to about 5 dollars in change xp Great artists at I watch on devart were there and I spent loads of my money on their stuff on how much I adore their work. wink
Now Imma talk about these Red Bull People like I promised earlier. There were these guyz that were there for a Red Bull event called Flug Tog or something... they came into the convention center and found everyone in Metrocon. They had no idea why so many people were dressing up so "strangely", and most of them made fun of us. It basically started a whole riot between us, Red Bull vs. Metrocon rofl But seriously they were really rude and disgusting... and drunken bastards too... ha.
Finally TBRS met up with Greg Cipes, the VA of Beast Boy. We went to every event him and his band held throughout the weekend. Cipes and the People is the name of his band, and the sort of have a nice reggae feel to it. In their mini show he invited the admin of TBRS to dance with him, us TBRS fangirls were so happy yet jealous for her at the same time. lol heart He hugged me and he smelled nicely like pepper whee lawlz
Well that basically was the main points of my trip to Tampa, Florida. And so far it is the best con I have ever been to. It beats Philly's Tandokucon and Secaucus's MangaNEXT! Hopefully I will be going to Otacon in Baltimore, Maryland. It may even beat Metrocon, because it is the largest convention in the U.S. But Imma need 65 dollars cause I sort of spent it on art sweatdrop *needs registration dinero (sp?)*
*I will edit in some videos and pictures into this journal after I upload and recieve more from my friends from TBRS. *
