ep r2 15 Quick Overview Notes

CC's memories:

seems to have been a child slave and may have been near death or just afriad to die.
formed a contract with a nun and gained a geass with the power to make anyone love her.
eventually everyone loved her but due to this she never learned what true love was like.
she eventually grew annoyed with the geass and the nun passed her immortality on to CC.

everyone who ever loved or hated her passed on with time.



Lelouch was sent to the world of C (basically CC's memories) by CC. it seemed that CC was going to let Charles kill her and Lelouch was of no use anymore.
but it is revealed the CC was possibly protecting Lelouch, even if for a short amount of time.

Lelouch returned to the Sword of Akasha now knowing CC true wish. Lelouch asks her why she didnt try to pass on the torture of eternal life to him and if it was because she felt pity for him. as CC starts to cry Lelouch tells her not to die upset but to smile to the end. he then tells her that he would make her smile and asks her once more to change her mind.

CC breaks the transfer and rushes to help Lelouch. he vows not to lose anyone else and begins attacking the place.

CC has quick flashbacks that rewind. then falls from the platform, unconscious. Lelouch catches her, saying he knows of her geass and of her true wish.

After appearing outside of the thought elevator, Lelouch tries to wake up CC. Once she is a awake he begins explaining that he has called Rolo. suddenly, CC asks who he is and he doesnt understand and procedes to ask about the king. CC acts scared and asks if he is her new master. Lelouch is shocked that CC has reverted back to her slave life self.

Thoughts on CC's choice of sending Lelouch to the world of C:

CC didnt want Lelouch to go through the torture of immortality because she loved him. So she sent him to the world of C to protect him. She might have been protecting him from watching her die, the Emperor, or possibly from accidently gaining the power.
This also might have been a call for help from him. Seeing as how, deep down, she wanted two things: to finally die and to feel true love. She apparently has been wanting to die for quite a long time so to get the chance finally she might not be able to say no. But she also has great feelings for Lelouch and may want to continue to stay with him. Yet due to her long torture of life, she is most likely unsure of which choice she truely wants or how to even choose!
Therefore, she might have sent Lelouch there so that he might come back and stop her, since she couldn't do it on her own. This would be my guess since that does in fact happen.
Still, we see that the choice was quite hard for her, even with Lelouch there. She wanted to die so badly yet at the same time Lelouch was forcing her to realize that she loved him. Upon truely realizing, she begins to cry and ultimately decides to live by helping Lelouch.


Thoughts on CC's loss of memory:

It is quite strange that CC lost her memory following the events to the failed immortality transfer and of course this raises many questions as to how. If you watch closly, she loses her memories immediatly following Lelouch's assualt on the Sword of Akasha and loses consciousness.
I say this is the time because a flashback scene occurs (a piece of what was shown back at the battle of Narita) but then rewinds, which could have been the symbol for the moment she reverted back to her state as a child (mind wise) without the geass. Also, the scene used seems to refer to the many people she saw die over time (with the clock symbolising time, the cloud of skulls death, and the people walking forward symbolising progression through life). Since these events occured during her immortal life, a rewind of such scenes would sugest the loss of memory of them.
Now if we watch closer still, we notice that CC didn't run to Lelouch but rather to the controls to free him. It can be assumed that she was keeping the Emperor from restraining Lelouch and therefore couldn't move from that spot. During Lelouch's assualt on the Sword of Akasha, he hits many objects on the platfrom including a crystal of some sort. This crystal seemed to have close to the same glow and the control mechanism used to further control that system. If this was truely the link between the two then perhaps when Lelouch shot that down he disrupted the control CC had over the realm itself. Also, since it is in fact controled by thoughts, then it is possible that CC had to form a thought connection with the control mechanism (and therefore the crystal) to maintain control. The forced sever of this connection may have been what caused CC to forget a great deal of her memory.
Still the question of exactly why only her immortality and geass memories were forgotten remains. We do know that there is some connection between the Geass and the Sword of Akasha, unfortunatly though, exact details are still unknown to us. It could be inferred that the forced break in the connection could have an effect on the person and their relationship with the geass. That being said, the connection made with the system may have to involve the geass in some manner then. This can also be backed by the fact that everytime we see CC use it her sigil has appeared on her forehead (meaning that she is using a power of some sort). Of course, it could just be that a forced halt in her power may supress it and anything in relationship with it, including memories.
