The International Chinese Photography Competition is also ending today: http://photo.ntdtv.com/en/
But just to let you know what the mission statement and contest rules are without going to the website (even though I posted it), here is the information:
Mission The Chinese International Photography Competition is one of a series of international cultural arts contests sponsored by New Tang Dynasty Television. Its purpose is to increase the sharing of cultural arts globally among Chinese who love photography, to uphold traditional Chinese arts philosophy, to promote artistic works portraying intrinsic reality with implications of compassion, gracefulness, righteousness, as well as to revive age-old Chinese aesthetic conceptions.
Contents and Requirements
Theme: The overall theme of each entry is at the discretion of the photographer, but all the entries should seek to portray the intrinsic reality of the subject matter, and contain messages of compassion, gracefulness, and righteousness. Each work should be labeled with a theme or subject; entries without such a label lose points during the assessment process.
Categories: This competition includes four categories. Each participant can submit a maximum of 3 entries per category, not exceeding 12 entries altogether. The entries submitted should not be works that have been received awards in any other public competition.
A: Society and Humanity B: Nature and Landscapes C: Architectures and Views D: People and Portraits
And the lucky winner of the Special Award gets USD $5, 000 or equivalent value of photographic equipment.
Wow! $5, 000 worth of camera gear?? That's some serious photography. Some of the pictures I've seen so far belong in frames so I think they're pretty good.
