Oh my! If it's anything like the costume designs I saw at the Chinese Spectacular when they came to town to perform then I'm going to start going gah-gah. Beautiful, graceful and stunning costumes! You know it's good when the curtains go up and everyone starts applauding. Each. And. Every. Show. I'm not kidding. But you just have to go experience it yourself to know what I'm talking about. I'm not saying any more. My lips are sealed.
Anyway, back to the competition...There's still plenty of time to enter the Han Couture Design Competition. It's in mid-October, so if you are a designer in fashion, then this is definately the time to see how your creative flare matches up with some other designers from around the world.

Mission
The Global Han Couture Design Competition is one in a series of international cultural and arts events sponsored by the New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV). Its purpose is to spread classical Chinese dress culture across the world and to promote traditional Chinese apparel that expresses pure kindness and beauty.
Theme of the Competition The Competition is aimed at bringing out practical designs that will meet the needs of modern people and are inspired by the depth and inner meaning of 5000 years of Chinese apparel. It builds upon ancient Chinese codes of conduct of benevolence, righteousness, courteousness, wisdom and loyalty and the values of pure kindness and beauty, and seeks to bring the precious apparel culture of the deeprooted Han couture to the dazzling modern world of today.
The Han couture design is not a mere copy of ancient Chinese clothing, but rather it tries to borrow the patterns in clothing of the Tang, Song, and Ming dynasties, and to create contemporary garments that bring together features of Han culture, in a unique and creative way. The title and design of works submitted should have no signs or messages of Chinese Communist Party culture.
Works submitted need not follow international trends or fashion.
