Something that came to mind.
Could This Be Really You?
By: Myrna Luna

Nixon walked to the park where he had once played with Kaylee any years ago. It was a cold and chilly morning. He still had a couple of hours before meeting with his band. Snuggled up in his black sweater, listening to some of his bands music. Walking towards the swing with his guitar in one hand and his crumpled music in the other. Nixon gently placed his guitar over his music, walking over the swing set, he began to rock himself with the tip of his feet. Sighing deeply as his memories soon began to replay in his mind.
“Come push me on the swings, Nixon!” The soft squeak of a little girl escaped the little girls smile. A young boys chuckle soon joined the girls squeal.
“Alright, Kay. I’ll give you a push.” The little boy smiled as he soon began to push the little girl. The soft metal creaks of the swing was now heard in the empty park and across the silent neighborhood. The little girls giggle along with the metal creaks of the swing.
“Hey! Nixon, guess what?” The girls question soon became another giggle. This giggle was different from the rest. This one was more exciting and planned. As if she already planned that certain moment out.
“What is it, Kaylee?” The boy asking in curiosity. His eye brows raised up as high as they could have possibly gone. His eyes sparkled with such emotion and love for that girl.
“We are going to be together…Forever! Right?” The young Kaylee giggled as she asked her question to the young Nixon.
A huge grin crept up on the young Nixon’s face. This question just excited him more. He nodded and replied, “Yes, Kaylee. Forever and ever!” The two of them both began to laugh. Knowing that they were to be together forever. That they were meant for each other.
Their laughter soon began to fade from Nixon’s memory of that certain day, eight years ago. Stopping the motions of the swing, Nixon walked away, grabbing his guitar and music. The winter wind soon began to push the swing slightly. The metal creaks began to decrease as he walked farther away. If he listened carefully he could still hear the giggles of Kaylee and the younger Nixon.
Nixon walked down Highland Boulevard, the cold winter wind stung his cheeks. As he sighed heavily, Nixon looked up to see a neon flashing light. Teen Café. A small bell jingled as he opened the door. A punk teen who stood at the other side of the counter looked up from his book and smiled at him. “Hey, Nix. How are you this morning?”
Smiling at the his friend. “Hey, Gabe. I’m alright. Oh, mind giving me a black coffee on the go? I have to meet up with the band.”
Gabe nodded as he got up from his stool. Grabbing a cup and pouring coffee, than handing it to Nixon. “There ya go.”
Nixon got out his money to pay to his friend. Gabriel shook his head as he pushed it back. Knowing that his good friend was having those thoughts again. He just smirked, “Its on the house.” He sat on the stool as he picked up his book and stuck his nose in.
Nixon chuckled as he placed the money in the tip jar. “Thanks, Gabe.” Folding his song and placing it carefully in his sweater pocket. Than grabbing the neck of his guitar. He pushed his body against the door. Taking several of steps towards the bus bench, close to the café. As he sat down, Nixon felt the coldness of the metal bench against his thin black sweater. Placing his guitar next to him. Slumping down on the bench, waiting for the bus arrival. While he waited his mind soon began to wander… wander off to his life eight years ago.
The 12-year-old Nixon began to whine as he stood behind Kaylee. “But Kays! Why!? Why do you need to leave Oakville?!” He watched as Kaylee packed her stuff in to the huge boxes. His eyes filled with anguish and grief, not wanting his best friend, his soul mate to leave him. Not like this at least. He had known her since she first moved to Oakville when they were both in kindergarten.
Kaylee turned around, sighing and biting her lip frustrated. “Nixon! Stop, okay? It’s what I want to do. Plus I have no other choice.” Turning her back towards Nixon again. “Now can you hand me that lamp?”
Nothing came out of Nixon’s mouth. Not even a simple motion but only the motion of his hands curling up into a fist. Putting so much pressure, that his knuckles soon began to turn white. “And you said were going to be together…forever..” Hissing out the words with rage. Almost sounding like the hiss of a serpent. “You.. You Liar! And Here Is Your Stupid Lamp!” Nixon grabbing the lamp and smashing it to the floor. Kaylee’s eyes widen. Looking at what Nixon had done. “Nix-” She started to say, but Nixon just stormed out of her room. Running down the stairs, Mrs. Atwood looked at the boy confused. “Nixo-” Beginning to say as well as he slammed the front door in front of her face. Livid tears streamed down his cheeks. He was now running. Running as far away as he possibly could. Not wanting to say goodbye to Kaylee, not wanting to be near her, nor see her face. His parents worried for their son, not knowing where he had run off to. Later that night, the cops had found him, sleeping in the slide at the park. They took him home. Nixon didn’t come out of his room for a couple of weeks. That’s when he began to change. Mentally and Physically.
Those were the last words he had ever said to Kaylee. But what had really hurt him was that she never even came to see if he was alright, to comfort him and telling him that they were to see each other again or too apologize of her departing of Oakville…
The hiss of the bus doors startled his memories. The soft warm smile of the bus driver was the first thing he saw as he came back to reality. “Hey Max.” Standing up from the bench and grabbing his guitar and finishing his coffee. Nixon showed him his id as he got on the bus.
“Hey, Nix.” Max closed the door behind him, nodding as he saw his bus id.
Nixon walked several of steps and took a seat in the empty seats. Putting his back against the bus, he propped up his feet on the other seat. Nixon begun to tune his guitar. As he did in the distance in the sea of chairs, popped up a small blonde hair boy. A huge grin was plastered on his face.
“Nixon! You’re Here!” He shouted with so much energy and excitement. His eyes sparkled with so much delight that it made Nixon happy.
“Never miss a day, Jake.” Replying to the little 10 year old. The bus stopped at a red light. Jake got up from his seat and sat down behind where Nixon was sitting.
“Any new songs?” Keeping the plastered grin upon his face with hope that he did.
Nixon nodded and smiled at the young dude. “Yeah. Wanna hear? It’s a little rough though, I just made it last night.” Nixon played one of the chords from his song. Looking at Jake with a smile himself.
“Boy! Would I ever.” Almost jumping out of his seat.
Nixon chuckled as he began to play his new song for his band. The music so well played and his voice was so in tune that it made any singer jealous. As he played the last chord, he looked up at Jake. His mouth opened and his eyes wide. “So, what did you think, Jake?”
He began to clap. “Amazing! As Always!”
“Thanks, man, that really means a lot when a fan tells me my music is great.” Nixon chuckled as he messed up Jake’s hair.
Jake gasped as he remembered something. “Wanna know something?” He leaned in closer to Nixon. As if this ‘secret’ was really important.
Nixon leaned in closer to him as he played a riff on his guitar. “What might that be, Jake?” He whispered to him, trying to be ‘secretive’.
“See that girl over there?” Trying hard not to point, but instead Jake pointed with his eyes.

[Will finish the little short story later.XD]
